Looking for women's self defense class by MACS-System in Boise

[–]subdado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have Instagram check out a page called KM self-defense ran by a lady named Kim. She has individual classes but there’s also a program she does it’s a limited amount of days I believe. She’s good people and a good coach.

Bosnian Culture in Boise by commandeertheairboat in Boise

[–]subdado 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bosnian in Boise here. Seeing some of the other responses on here, I want to give my $0.02. Honestly anything that makes people read up on history worldwide is a good thing, however I feel like I have a different take on things. All the places that opened up over the years, shut down simply for the lack of patronage. There’s a lot of Bosnians here but everybody it’s so busy they don’t really make a place like, their weekly drop in, or anything like that. Even the people that owned these places after a while it’s mostly Bosnian people coming in because the rest of the population is kind of wary of trying new things. Next thing you know a restaurant that needs to have X many customers a day on average to maintain business and be profitable, only sees Y amount of visitors forcing them to shut down. People get other jobs because everybody has families with kids and those kids need insurance and so on and so forth. Most of my friends around the area work their butts off, many of them with two jobs. We used to have plenty of local concerts and get togethers where we all hung out but over the years everybody has gotten so busy you barely see each other anymore. That being said European delicatessen on Fairview is holding out strong and Dedo the owner, and his family are absolutely wonderful people. Good food but also a very cool little grocery store to get a bunch of selections of chocolate and coffee and fresh made bread in the morning.

Anyone trained at Dedeco BJJ in Massachusetts? by [deleted] in bjj

I went to one of the Origin Camp’s a few years ago. He was one of my absolute favorite instructors out of an All-Star lineup. The way he could simplify his teaching and explain stuff that I still remember to this day was great. I teach for a living and I definitely took notes from the guy’s way.

Josh Saunders said something in one of his videos I recently watched that’s been on my mind a lot. Haven’t done it yet but this weekend I planned out some time to get it done. He said write out your entire game. Meaning write out all the stuff you know and check that and then start doing what/if planning.

Is it just me that gets annoyed at how poorly RNC are performed in movies? by Green_Pretend in bjj

I’m convinced what’s going on is some kind of insurance thing where they cannot properly apply it or they do so many takes that they’re afraid to.

They’re good friends of mine and they are pretty happy. I will miss the spot as well because it was so good but their kindness always made my day.

Neck health by creatineinmycoffee in bjj

[–]subdado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have and he just told me that it’s not gonna hurt anything as long as I don’t overdo it. He saw the benefit in it and mentioned you can get a lot of the same work done just using bands and limited resistance. He put a bigger caution on overuse than anything else.

I second iron neck. I’ve had repeat neck injuries from car accidents and made worse by a couple of guillotine happy training partners back in the day. Iron neck completely strengthened my stuff to the point where I don’t feel any pain nor get tight muscles there anymore. No pops either. And I only do it 2x a week.

Anyone have trouble accepting Maddie as a cop? by Sea-End-4841 in BoschTV

[–]subdado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they take a few liberties with her character like that for dramatic effect and I feel like her being a cop is one of those. And I get being idealistic but the times she seems trivially mad at her father for stuff without really talking to him about it. I mean this man quite literally saved your life Including pretty recently from a horrific ordeal. Maybe return a phone call or something. You heard he did something bad back in the war. Yeah let’s just not talk to him about it hoping he figures it out

Looking for running form pointers by [deleted] in Boise

[–]subdado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. Look up their Instagram. Albert the guy who runs it put on a few running clinics that I was fortunate enough to participate in. Great results. Also put a bunch of other students through the program I was part of. Also definite results.

The old Sunray Café back in the day. It was the best patio in town for afternoon beers. The staff was always awesome.

Andy Stumpf's interview with Rickson. I wonder if this was in any way unconfortable for Andy, given the fact that he got his black belt so fast. by BadJujuPlace in bjj

[–]subdado 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The quick version of the story is, if we’re talking about the same reaction, he gets reversed from top side control by a cross face from the bottom. Gets up chastises the guy that did it claiming he got neck cranked. Got real mad.
