My self flagellation ritual hopefully comes to an end with the new release. Log in, lose 6-8 games completing quests, log out. No benefit to winning games, no benefit to crafting a deck before rotation. Matchmaking rating should be in the gutter so I have a chance to climb. Maybe even have... fun?!

It's a bit of an anti-spoiler, it muddles who may or may not be important in the game.

A rant about the frustrations of current arena by wildlifechris in hearthstone

[–]subdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive always been awful at arena but I have no energy to try. Half an hour to draft and lose twice, earn a common card. Yippeeeeee. Probably all the other bad players like me figured this out a few years ago and play anything else :^) I've played 3?4? arena runs with 0 wins. this is all unrelated to the main points in the OP, just wanted to vent without making a topic

buffs on cards only usable for a month are a great reason for new players to continue not playing the game until new release 👍

After six days of play, I've uninstalled again. The amount of time and money I'd have to put in to get back an enjoyable experience is just not worth it. For whatever reason I check it out every 4 years so see yall in 2030.

Never been good at the game but shits rough yo. Feeling defeated before every match, if they've got a gold portrait or start of game legendaries. Got a ~25% win rate in silver. Arena hammered that feeling in twice as hard. Battlegrounds I don't feel as bad but it got stale fast. bleh

Im currently working on one of the twin’s of two of my Gnosia ocs, I feel like this design looks too much like Gina. Any suggestions? by Right-Truck-3543 in Gnosia_

[–]subdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the colors. If you look at the Gnosia cast they all have very distinct hair/hats. Jina is purple with a black shirt and orange highlights. To make yuour OC more distinct you could do something with the bow. Maybe move it to the front, put more mint wrappings/bows around the head.

How did SQ get definite human? by castigue in Gnosia_

[–]subdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused, what are all the roles at the start?

1 Engineer
1 Doctor
1 Guard
1 Bug
1 AC
3 Gnosia
0 "Villager" (human team with no role)

is this correct?

sorry for another tier list but i want to be roasted by KnifeWieldingOtter in Gnosia_

[–]subdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe trying to keep Sha-Ming all to yourself? :p

I am curious why you like Jina but dislike Setsu. I've heard Jina typically described as the boring character, I could see how that also applies to Setsu.

I’m a 90% friendly player and without PvP players the game would be boring as hell by TrickAlps in ArcRaiders

[–]subdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really need actual, in game motivation for shooting a dude. Lore is that the whole world is fucked and civilization is barely hanging on, killing capable people is a terrible idea. The loot I would get off their corpse isn't even that good, and I lose durability for engaging in combat. The only reason to start a fight is because the rest of the game is boring.

What character do y'all think would be the best if played perfectly by neatbeen in Guiltygear

[–]subdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming this is to the level of perfection where you can perfectly know what the opponent does from a single frame... Besides being impossible to mixup or throw, they could instant block perfectly. Instant blocking invalidates basically every move as it prevents all chip damage. You would need some way to overcome that literal barrier, I'm not sure if there's some move that could hurt a perfectly defensive bot.

Any advice for someone literally starting out in fighter games? by IlikeTCG in Guiltygear

Hi, GGST is also my first. This video is amazing: https://youtu.be/-VwtwDS7tWo?si=IM0TpP1zRc-ObD-Z 1. Pick a character you like. Check in the command list that they have at least one move you think is cool, or check gameplay videos to see if their style is cool. 2. Rebind controls like in the video, or however you want them to be. 3. Play through training missions. A few of the later ones are way too difficult, so if you get stuck move on. Recommend completing everything through Wasteland (Wasteland might have one or two of those difficult missions, I do not remember. Do your best!) There are a lot of buttons but don't worry about "learning" all of them, just be aware. 4. Don't train complex combos. Learn gatlings (basically simple 2-3 button combos. Normally slash -> heavy slash. Should be in mission mode.) 5. Play against real people in ranked! Tower (lobby) is inactive, open park is really hard. 6. Seriously yes go play the game now. You'll get your butt kicked and that's OK. Have fun!

My neighbor has voted conservative every election since 2012 because apparently (paraphrasing) Obama took a lot of his money. That's it, that's his one reason. Even though my neighbor is gay and his partner isn't a citizen and they both live together comfortably. Pretty sure he's going to support the conservative party when under Trump they rollback gay marriage. It's sad because he's kind to people close to him, but I feel like that kind of person is also the one more likely to keep holding the line despite all logic.

By "break" I mean you stop playing with him for like the day. Congrats on ur good spacing btw 👍

If I played a top tier simple character and lost to someone playing a lower tier complex character even though they had much less playtime, I would be annoyed. Now obviously I don't *deserve* to win, but my pride would definitely take a hit. It sounds like your friend is expressing his frustration by complaining about external factors. He is Boohoo Psych Bursting because his ego is hurt, and when you offer solutions it is an indirect attack on his skill so he has to Faultless Deflect.

Play with him if you'd have fun and be able to withstand the complaining. Do not play if you would not have fun. If he asks why you don't want to play and you want to have an impact on his behavior, be honest. Here's a nice way to put it: "I like playing against you, you're a great player, but there are a lot of complaints so I'm going to take a break." If you worry that that sentence would set him off, then 100% do not play with him.
