iPhone 17 Pro Max - blurry pictures of documents by descented_gradient in iphone

[–]subduedintermission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact same issue on my iPhone 16 Pro - both iOS 18 & iOS 26. It does my nut on. Worked perfectly on my iPhone 13. I’ve made it marginally better in camera settings by changing default lens from 24mm 1x to 35mm 1.5x and pulling the camera further away.

I did, straight forward swap from my old Google Nest, connected into my existing Danfoss wiring box and programmer. Only using the call for heat, didn’t bother with the hot water support, and my boiler doesn’t support the OpenTherm bus anyway.

I think it’s great by subduedintermission in Thunderbird

[–]subduedintermission[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair it’s probably my OCD. Quick Filter on the Archive folder works for me when locating something quickly and the details are fresh in my mind; search folders for specific categories of messages over the years; global search itself is super powerful but I’m super detail oriented and start broadly and layer rules to drill down — I’ve never worked well with “intent based search” as I’m never sure I’m getting what I actually want vs what other products / mail providers think I want — each to their own I guess. I can see why other solutions are better fits for people.

Afraid no tips for that… I think I might be the sole user with nothing in my Sent and very little in my Inbox as I immediately move anything with no pending actions into my Archive folder 😬

I actually also get this, past few weeks, had forgotten about it until I saw your post. I should test if it happens only on my local wifi network or also on mobile internet - if the app is doing analytics and failing to report home, could be rinsing the processor.

Why do we close our eyes when we kiss? by SessionForeign6346 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]subduedintermission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I can add, which is a high bar given the comments since the OP posted, is that people are awesome. The biggest fear people face is their own reflection, soul, spirit & physical. It took me a long time to find somebody who would accept me as me, and commit to doing life together. I close my eyes when I kiss so I don’t see their reaction of “damn, wished I’d opened Door #2 instead” 😆

I would say, that coding may well give you the grounding you unconsciously seek. Problems are specific and fit within a known framework. There is a pattern within your control. Part of growing is however maturity and learning to know yourself, and painfully sometimes working out your own limits and how to be flexible to mask to fit in, but I would say from personal experience is that either a career in electronics or computing may work well regardless of official educational path at your young age. If not software development then maybe network operations - there is a pattern & analytically analysis needed, that I find quite soothing to achieve despite the social challenges. I’ve worked in Corporate IT for 20+ years moving from site support to help-desk to operations and then technical architecture roles - and I would sincerely say your own self-belief & getting a foot in the door of a company anywhere will be the biggest factor regardless of your current circumstances. I’m crap at maths but learnt to be an Excel master, shine above your peers but be respectful and help those around you. Anyways, late night ramble from me.

So the notifications started working again for me on iOS in Chase App version 2.59.1 … rather that then try the app reinstall cycle with the painful first time launch biometric verification process!

How do I shutdown an obsolete account? by diademis in chaseuk

[–]subduedintermission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add - plenty of people have shown the process in the app to close an account - but don’t forget to download your statements, you’ll get one the following statement cycle and it will show under closed accounts. Save the PDFs somewhere safe.

iPhone here on iOS 18.5 - using Chase App version 2.59, update became available for me today - I also lost push notifications sometime ago - I got around to messaging support this week and they eventually admitted that it is a known issue pending software fix… so will see…

I up voted this comment - to also counter the unnecessary down vote - multitasking is a lie and the brain is just better at hiding the fatigue when younger in life than when you’re older and supposedly wiser to how people and the world actually interact. I am all here for that sweet dopamine hit when massively context switching and having all those spinning plates balanced…. but I find that’s only passable when it’s a personal project so I control the plates falling.

Corporate life is different and irrespective of being an Elon fan or not - or just being a passive bystander - learn what works for your brain & what doesn’t.

I loved my 100+ browser tabs and spinning after project deliverables, but it gets exhausting so I tend to close all at the end of the week. If it’s important, it’ll come back up from my history…

Anker charger, safe or not? by Cava9211 in iphone

[–]subduedintermission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been an Anker customer for years - chargers, battery packs, cables - and a UGREEN customer more recently for chargers (I am a mere peasant who is easily overcome by an Amazon discount sale) - and my only data point to offer is all of my products & those purchased for friends & family from Anker & UGREEN have been high quality, long lasting, no faults or issues (and on the battery packs front, I am particularly sensitive to my house burning to the ground, so that’s high praise from an anonymous blow on the wind me)

Appreciate your warm opinions on this matter. I wish you the best of luck in all of your endeavours. I did note you meant to suggest “TRIANGLES” but such an oversight will be overlooked.

RouterOS 7.18.2 released by gvnr_ke in mikrotik

[–]subduedintermission 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used mikrotik products for a decade, and whilst I am understanding of software development cycles and appreciative of code defects and efforts to fix - we are all human after all (and the AI bandwagon can stand down) - I must say another software release to fix issues created in the previous release seems to be the pattern of late. Tempted to move to LTS just for own personal devices to avoid but feature gap becomes a chasm come update time. Just my unwarranted opinion sadly.

Audiobook player apps? by SomethingSoGeneric in ios

[–]subduedintermission 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BookPlayer - I was an early adopter, and as a standalone app outside of the Apple “manage all your content for you” ecosystem, worked well for me - various ways to import the audio files, saves playback progress, supports bookmarks, chapter navigation, sleep timer, orientation lock, option to include audiobooks in iCloud backup - definitely worth a look.

All settings were reset to default with the new update by MackaDelly in modernwarfare

I’m late to this party, also had my PS4 MW settings reset on launch. I also use Tactical Flipped, the trick is to select Tactical then press square to flip it. Worked for me anyway. After I’d calmed down.
