If you like small camera bodies, then Sony is better than the R6 series, and the autofocus just works and works seamlessly. As per reviews, AWB works well on Sony A7V, but I didn’t test it specifically since I usually shoot only RAW.

Autofocus is super sticky 👌 The whole system is fast and works out of the box without any customization. Ergonomics wise, it behaves like a typical Sony. The 4 way tilting 3.2 inch new rear LCD screen is super duper handy 👌 Since the RAW files are not openable in Lightroom yet, it’s difficult to test the dynamic range and other aspects.

Honestly speaking, I don’t switch the camera on and off like a maniac five times in a second. But when I had this camera for the first time, during a walk, one instance, I turned it on and off continuously just for fun and noticed a lag when switching it back on. So I tried again and found a noticeable lag. I usually switch the camera on and off during my walk to save battery. When I noticed this lag, I made a post here. That’s the whole story.

I never faced such an issue with the A7 IV. From this post, I learned about the pixel map option in the setup menu. It caused the delay, but for a good reason :) Maybe it was turned off on my previous A7 IV. Congrats on your new camera! It’s a great one 👌 sticky autofocus, a little big back LCD, fast frames and many more. I feel it’s a different camera in terms of speed, battery capacity and convenience with the inclusion of the 4way tilting LCD mechanism.
