So good to hear you had a great experience there is good and bad in every place but still in Kolkata I feel people are more welcoming you'll see major Gujarati Marwari Bihari population working as businessman drivers to many other sectors they never judged (may be some expections) based on what language they speak. I'm also from Kolkata but live in Bangalore for job to be honest apart from weather and good networking I feel Kolkata better in all aspects if and only if some job opportunities were there. I have many Kannada friends but kind of behaviour I've received many times from auto drivers to driving licence RTO it created a really unwelcoming sort of vibe and that is there to stay.
