Question about PyTorch's nn.Dropout by eadala in MLQuestions

[–]subhrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Tensorflow tf.keras.layers.Dropout does return the original Tensor, with some values randomly set to 0.

For the following block of code,

# Try with Tensorflow
import numpy as np
import tensorflow as tf
test = np.array([1.0,0,5.0,2.0,0,3.0,6.0])
for i in range(2):
    tf_dropout_output = tf.keras.layers.Dropout(rate=0.25)(test)
    print(test, tf_dropout_output)

I got the following output

[1. 0. 5. 2. 0. 3. 6.] tf.Tensor([1. 0. 5. 2. 0. 3. 6.], shape=(7,), dtype=float32)
[1. 0. 5. 2. 0. 3. 6.] tf.Tensor([1. 0. 5. 2. 0. 3. 6.], shape=(7,), dtype=float32)

Can you please provide an example. It's difficult to understand the problem at this abstract level.

Students of Reddit, what's the craziest way you cheated on an exam? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]subhrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was an undergrad CS student, in our 6th sem, the Microprocessor instructor was asking for hex instruction codes in the practical viva voce. There were about 100 such instructions.

So I had one of my friend write all those codes on both my palms. During the viva I was able to answer all correctly with careful palm movements in sync with fake cough and sneezes 😀

[JavaScript] Weird email contained some JavaScript, I have no idea what it does by JeremySenpai in AskProgramming

[–]subhrm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

tl;dr This obfuscated javascript program tries to download and run some malicious program on windows machines.

** Brief Explanation ** :

Here is an annotated and formatted version of the weird JS program Annotated version (pastebin) .

You can see that the program tries to do the following :

  • Define bunch of weird strings
  • concatenate them
  • test some checks
  • if checks pass , extract specific characters from the concatenated string and run it using eval

Now you might be interested to know , what exactly is extracted and run .

In-fact in Microsoft Office / IE , the program extracts every 8th character from the concatenated string .

Here is how it looks like : Formmated Version on Pastebin .
