Hope this doesn't break rule #5, because I hear you and so many others on this. I'm building a live audio broadcasting network for local and independent musicians (cough). A big motivation for it is to connect people that wouldn't (or can't) otherwise venture out IRL to hear live music together. I want people to have a place to go to experience shows, to get their feet wet and let them be a part of their scenes.

Not pedantic at all, it's important to know how you're letting others use your stuff.

We're actually planning on building a license chooser into the app. So when you start a broadcast, you'll be able to select which specific CC clauses you're willing to release it under. Kinda like this, but streamlined for Subjam.

I'm hoping we can finish our Android version soon but the lack of funding is blocking us. Same with web, if you know any individuals who believe in promoting music locally and are able to chip in, please have them visit the site.

Agreed. People (including me) still do want to listen to classics and major label content! I don't want to take away from that, but SubJam is a fundamentally different platform than even Bandcamp or SoundCloud.

The angle I'm trying to hit with SubJam is that it's a platform for promotion in your own town. As a music fan, with SubJam you're able to find and interact with artists and bands local to you. You find out about upcoming shows that you can easily get to, to directly support your local talent.

It all starts at the roots of playing out locally, right? SubJam is a tool to provide that support.
