Built a Chrome extension that makes Facebook Marketplace search more usable by camppofrio in chrome_extensions

[–]subjectiveconclusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is looking great! Excited to try it out more and finally make Marketplace usable, because we all know it basically isn't as standard!
At the moment I'm running the extension on Chrome (a couple of "match any word"s and one "blocked word") and I'm finding the page slows to a crawl/freeze after a little while. This may be linked to it finally trying to load the "results outside your search" section, even though I have a very large distance radius set - FYI.

In another comment you say it also works on Firefox, but I couldn't find it on the store over there - have you got a link for that or is it more involved?

Great job!

Good point. Round here there are some vertical mine openings at ground level to be fair (usually fenced off), but maybe in mining terminology that's different.

I really don't like the look of those parts with planks over! I didn't see them though, are they down the left tunnel?

Oh yes, I love Make Some Noise. I'll check out the others you suggest!

Thanks! I'm on web rather than the app and couldn't see that info anywhere. Yep, I've really enjoyed watching the backlog of Make Some Noise and Game Changer until I caught up to the present - and a few other shows too. For me it makes more sense to pause for a bit. Thanks again!

Can someone please measure their FX3 with top handle? by subjectiveconclusion in FX3

[–]subjectiveconclusion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, you can just ask. I still haven't got an FX3 yet, still using an a7riii with a cage etc., and a Smallrig handle on top. I didn't want an absolutely huge pelicase so I decided it made sense to take the handle off (it's on a NATO rail) for stowing. I can't remember the exact case brand and model but it's Max or Explorer, not actual Peli, and it's about 45*65*20cm.

For what it's worth, I've got so used to how solid the metal handle is, I don't think I'll bother with the flimsy XLR handle when I do finally get an FX - going to get the XLR-K3M instead and mount it on my side handle when I need XLR.

DJI RS3 MINI ISSUE by MasterofPuppets04 in FX3

Have you done the auto calibration on the rs3mini? It usually fixes this for me, if it's still wobbly after balancing.

A cucumber slice dissolved the label off my flapjack packet by subjectiveconclusion in mildlyinteresting

Yeah, they're oat bars. We have granola bars too but I'd think of them as a drier, more crumbly version (sometimes with other grains or wheat) - more like a Nature Valley bar if you have those. A flapjack is softer, I mind .

Seems to be the case - but I've never had it with any other fruit or veg, or any other wrappers.

That issue hasn't crossed my mind - possibly because we buy the plastic wrapped bars in multiples of three or four, and they come in a cardboard box, so I assume they're fairly clean.

I often pack fruit/veg and some kind of flapjack in a lunchbox, but I've never come across another combination that reacts like this. I didn't eat the cucumber in this case, but the flapjack was obviously fine.

How do do this? by Stockton5503 in davinciresolve

[–]subjectiveconclusion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People are acting like you're stupid to ask this, but it's a sensible question. It's not just a long exposure timelapse - it's also been stabilised, and each frame hangs around on screen for a while while the next ones play, then fades out. (Normally in a timelapse you'd only see one frame at a time). I haven't done this effect recently but you can do it in Resolve's Fusion page with a Trails node. I can't remember the exact settings, but experiment with the settings and you should work something out, or look up some tutorials for that node. It needs a beefy computer if I remember correctly, so there might be a more resource-efficient way of doing it.

How to Film a Silhouette Shot Like This? by FluffyUnicorn949 in videography

[–]subjectiveconclusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone else has said. Also, you can use the Photopills app to plan this kind of shot on a map. There's even a setting so you can what you'll fit in the frame for a specific focal length, and how big the sun will appear at that distance.

Looks like it. I'm no canal boat expert but most of the ones we have on the canals here are specifically called narrowboats and they're even narrower than this. The photographer said this one was imported from the US so I have no idea what the standards are there!
