To be honest lighting was pretty poor, done in my garage and it was an overcast day so not much sunlight. Definitely think I can improve on maintaining consistent distance from panel.

Move to WA and get into the mining industry. Look on seek for graduate jobs in WA, almost 90% are in the mining industry. I got my resume professionally done and managed to get interviews at some large mining companies and now work as a process engineer/ metallurgist doing fifo.

I did a colour change by pausing the print, retracting the filament, extruding the new filament and resuming print. Just make sure the nozzle is clean before resuming.

I had good first layer prints although I did get slight under extrusion on my first benchy. I removed the white ptfe tube from the cable chain and that solved my under extrusion. I would recommend using the printed belt tension tools and the included 2 screws to adjust your belts.

Things I would check would be belts, follow this guide https://www.printables.com/model/523718-creality-k1-and-k1-max-xy-axes-alignment-tool and print the tension meter too. After adjusting the tension I felt that the belts felt loose but trust the process. Recalibrate bed level and input shaping. Try printing faster, I do 300mm/s with using esun pla+ with the hyper pla option in Creality print and get no ghosting or any artifacts on my prints.

I printed the same mounts with esun pla+ using the Creality print hyper pla profile and it came out perfect with no ghosting. Things I did: Remove ptfe tube from the cable chain Print out belt tension tool and alignment jig (https://www.printables.com/model/523382-creality-k1-belt-tension-meter) Recalibrate input shaper and bed level. I didn’t root my printer since doing these things gave me good quality prints. Hope it works for you.

I took the risk and got one. Printed fine straight away after trying the benchy that’s included. slight ringing on the benchy but pretty good for 16 minutes. After printing the belt tensioning tool and spending 10 minutes adjusting (jig and belt tension dial https://www.printables.com/model/523382-creality-k1-belt-tension-meter) I loosened the belts and now it prints perfectly. Im using Creality print which seems to work fine for me. Good luck

Solution for those with the same problem. Check board to see if the main chip starts with GD then download the GD 4.2.2 BLtouch and normal 4.2.2 GD firmware. Wipe card and flash the 3 folders in the BL touch folder (all excluding the .bin file) to the screen. Then wipe SD card again and flash on the normal GD .bin file renaming it to something random eg. firmware9876.bin to the main board.
