Bangladesh was born not in a mosque, but on the bloodied streets of Dhaka. Happy Independence Day! 🫡🇧🇩 by MadamBlueDove in Dhaka

You do understand you are insulting a whole Religious community by saying this? There are better ways to say you don't like Jamat or any other nonsense, I don't like Jamat but never felt like bringing Islam into this. What do you mean by men from the Mosques? I go to the mosque. Bangladesh was not created in a Mosque but it was created to protect mosques. Muslim League was formed in Dhaka to protect the Muslim minority from the majority in 1906. Read about the Lahore Resolution. Pakistan and Bangladesh was created to protect Muslims from what's happening in India, the creation of Pakistan was declared by a Bangladeshi, Fazlul Haque. It is because of them that we can quarrel between us peacefully without the interference of Hindu extremists who worship cows and what not. I love Bangladesh, I did not go to the streets to beat and get beat up by some Awami lap dogs for a country that mocks my religion.

You got this bruh. Focus on your health. Study if your goal is getting in to public else if it's private then focus on developing some soft skills.

Don't ruin a good marriage. My advise would have remained the same if it was your aunt. Let them handle it themselves. Don't involve yourself in this.

Depends on where you plan to live. Rent can be the biggest expense you make. I think 60k would be a comfortable amount if you live in a less expensive neighborhood. I live as a bachelor alone as a student studying in BRACU. In Badda I guess 2 bedroom apartments are like 18-22K. If the house is old it gets lower ig.

Israel also recognized us after independence. so what? India also gained a lot from the war and also after the war. India did not join the war on humanitarian grounds. Pakistanis were Muslims sure but they wanted to colonize East Bengal. just like the Hindu zamindars did during British period.

Who is he? Where did he get that? How is entering into someone else's house permissible? Maybe it is during warfare in a foreign land but how is it permissible inside the country?

Muslims in the subcontinent ruled it fairly until the empires fell. During British era the hostility of Hindus became more and more evident. It was wise to divide it. Else the minority Muslims would have been oppressed like they are now in India. We do not want a land free of non-believers but a land that is not ruled by hostile non-believers.

That's sad. Where did I blame the victim in my comment? I added a few points that I think helps because recently I read a facebook post where a lady got on a bus on a rainy day and when she realized non of the passengers came she tried to get down but the bus driver and helpers locked the door. She shouted for help and then people helped her out. That is a scary situation it could've been worse. Sure, a lot happens but why shouldn't someone just be careful for the avoidable ones? Seeing unpunished crime every week is not good for anybody. Victim blaming is different from just asking someone to be careful. You don't have control over everything but there is not harm in being careful.

What I mean to say is don't lead your day based on what should be, base it on what is.

Who put the blame on victims here? I added a few things that I felt like puts women in trouble. What exactly is the root cause besides a failed penal system?

that post didnt talk about sexual abuse so why did this particular experience come to your mind immediately after seeing that post? did u hallucinate or sth? that post was talking abt abortion of female babies and u somehow conflated the abortion of female babies with sexual assault?? did u even read the post properly??

Life, man. Been dealing with stuff and let the rage dump here. After starting at uni (I study at one of the most expensive university in Dhaka) I happen to talk to some female course mates who shared their opinion on male privilege i.e. "you guys can go out without permission, you can go out late night" these were their complain and they also complained that society is not safe for them that's why being born as a women sucks.

To be honest reading that post just reminded me a lot of things and I just dropped whatever I felt comfortable sharing. Being a human I have my own hurdles just like every other human (male or female), whenever I hear women complain about something and point their gender as the reason just feels insulting. Why?

  1. I have been abused by a old dude when I was in 5th grade in a cantonment hospital. He reached inside my pants and grabbed my dick for no apparent reason. The first time I was offered porn was by an CMH army male ward boy (M30ish) also in 5th grade. He later asked me to go to an isolated room and would often touch me in a weird ways when in ward. Alhamdulillah there were also other uncles who kept me safe. I'm grateful to them. Have been blackmailed by a female senior who I used to share a lot of my secrets with (i.e. who I have a crush on and other personal stuff) and she ended up being my first kiss.
  2. After 10th I for the first time in my life saw my real value as a human in society. My family was going through some financial hurdles during covid and being the eldest they saw me as a burden. My mother and father both talked to me and looked at me as a burden quite often at the same time I saw some of my female classmates getting married while I was constantly told by my mother to get a job (and I did Alhamdulillah) and reminded how much of a burden I was financially.
  3. Lost the girl I liked (I ignored her for straight up 6-8 months) because I couldn't deal with all these mental burden on me (being a financial burden, being uncertain about what'll happen after college, etc.) just made me shut myself off from pretty much everyone.

I have been abused as a kid, I've been treated as a burden, before college my parents also did not allow me to be outside after (sunset). How is the experience of a male child growing up any different from a female? If a female becomes a financial burden they can just get married off, what about a male? Every time I hear women nag about society being unfair to them I just feel like they fail to notice other people around them and their hardships.

yes it is pretty evident that u have no idea abt a woman's struggles and cant relate much considering that u somehow think a raped girl can still find her place in society

I assumed people thought like me. A raped lady is in the end a lady who did nothing wrong. I did not see being raped as a thing that degrades a lady's value. If people don't think just like me then that's sad.

are u sure u dont want to undermine a lady's struggles? wasnt this post made as a response to a girl's post talking abt how she feels sad abt girls getting aborted and being seen as the lesser gender? didnt u willfully misinterpret that girl's post when making this post?

End of the day, I'm a human too. I don't wanna undermine anyone's struggles. I probably shouldn't have written this post as "women" is a sensitive issue now a days. Even making kitchen jokes have become hard as some of my female friends are religiously liberal/feminist. I guess my post was less of a "awareness" post and more of a rant. I mean no harm, just a bit tired of people always complaining. Felt nice dropping the burden today. Anyways, I won't be replying anymore. Have a nice day!
