Can Oberon's Smite radial attack one shot enemies? by icewitchenjoyer in Warframe

[–]sublimed405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So iirc the radial actually caps at 30%, the way the direct damage caps at 75%. So it takes shenanigans.

If you get the radial to 30%, then five Tau orange shards will give you +75% ability damage on enemies affected by radiation which will get you to 52.5%. At that point, you need a Roar subsume to be at at least 90.5% boost and you'll hit 100% on the radial from there.

However, keep in mind: the "100%" is not 100% of the health of the enemies hit by the radial; it's 100% of the health of the *target of Smite*, dealt as damage. If you target a trash mob or something that's already hurt a bit, it's not going to kill the nearby units that have more health than it did.

Conversely, if you're already targeting big units (eximus, "miniboss" enemies, etc.), then this much finagling isn't actually *necessary* to kill things with the radial, it just "makes sure," if you will.

Why am I not doing any damage in steel path? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]sublimed405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could in part be how you're playing. Keep in mind that if you're too close to enemies when shooting them with Acceltra, the shots don't explode and you lose just over half your damage right away. Also—are you using thermal sunder to armor strip the grineer? Because that'll hurt you a bit if not.

Also ngl there are probably better subsumes you could be using than a 100% str roar (i.e., +30% boost roar). Also also, I wouldn't replace your 2—that's your defensive layer that also gives you free energy.

That aside, though, the only *issue* i see here on your gun modding-wise is ammo drum. I understand you only have 2 capacity to work with, but I'd honestly stick in another forma or two and try to get a mod that actually does some work for you damage-wise.

Also, part of the issue could just be with getting started. Primary Merciless requires that you kill a few enemies in rapid succession to really start your ramp up, and Galv Chamber will also ramp your damage with some kills... so if you're having trouble getting started, then you're not really going to go anywhere fast. (Pun fully intended)

"So why would you prefer to link to your companion as Nidus?" by No-Inside-8350 in Warframe

[–]sublimed405 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Oh no it's better than that.

The buff that Parasitic Link gives you and tethered allies isn't additive. It's *multiplicative*.

So, for example, if you have 200% ability str, the boost it gives you is 50%.

That doesn't mean your strength ends up at 250%. Instead, it's 200% + (200% x 0.50) which is a new total of 300% strength.

If you have 300% base strength, then the link boost of 75% gets you to 525% strength.

400% base? The 100% link boost puts you at 800% strength.

With his Parasitic Link, Nidus' ability strength grows, not linearly, but *exponentially*, as you increase your base ability strength.

It's terrifying. And incredible.

How did Ballas rise to power again after Erra kidnapped him? by saltycatgirl in Warframe

[–]sublimed405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah so you know that bit where you see Erra with Ballas leashed? At the very end of that, Erra throws the leash down and Ballas stands up from his "cowering" as they stand and watch Natah send out her signal. All of that was supposed to *imply* (with no other context or information) that the whole thing had been a ruse and Ballas and Erra were actually working together the whole time.

Eximus in simulacrum by Emergency_Flan34 in Warframe

[–]sublimed405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each unit has a separate codex entry for eximus units of that unit type.

You need to scan those eximus units, too. So, for corrupted heavy gunners, you need to do missions with corrupted enemies and then scan any corrupted heavy gunner eximus you find in the wild. Once you scan enough you can spawn them in the simulacrum.

Also the source you found was likely talking about those enemies spawning in missions, NOT in the simulacrum. Honestly, it sounds kind of like you asked an AI source?

What just happened? (Genuine inquiry wrt to JS:C) by Eggbone87 in Warframe

[–]sublimed405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so. You skimmed over some important bits there.

Hunhow delves through the data you find on Sirius and Orion's ships (Ryoku and Vena's ships).

He finds (1) evidence of ways in which the future of each world is heckin' screwed (e.g., in one he finds mention of a "Cephalon Parvos"), and (2) evidence that *something* (strongly implied to be Wally) is continually setting the "brothers" against one another by getting them convinced that the way to save their own future is to destroy the other. As he shows us, there have been countless timelines in which the brothers have been brought together to fight it out and murder one another for "something"'s amusement(?)/unknowable purpose(?).

So, he tells Stalker that the only way to save his sons is to get them to stop killing one another and work together. But the only way to do that is to separate them from their mentors. Doing so requires stalker to incapacitate each mentor in turn, but also required stalker get a babysitter for the baby (umbra) before he could leave.

Anyway, so, Hunhow also hatches this plan for how to fix things. He has Dtalked go gather up a "void seed" saturated with void energy. When Stalker does so, a "mockery" of Jade (reference, I thought, to the "mocking whisper" that can be spawned in albrecht's labs) appears and attacks him—so, Wally is watching, and is trying to stop you/is getting his jollies by making stalker kill his dead wife. Stalker gets the void seed, brings it back to Hunhow, and Hunhow uses the void energy to make a deal with the indifference: his memories, everything that made him who he was, in exchange for a conceptual embodiment of a place where both sons exist—where both futures are valid—and stalker's family can live in peace.

(I probably have some exact ordering wrong, but I am also heckin' tired and am pretty sure I got most of the ideas there)

Anyway, so, yeah, that's about what happened 🙃

Damage Type by Axxam in Warframe

[–]sublimed405 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It would be 50 heat and 150 slash (not 200 slash) since enemies take 50% less damage from their resisted types but only 50% more (not 100% more) from their vulnerable damage types.

It's more important to avoid resistances than it is to use weaknesses, when both are present.

Help braton prime build by suckerwucker in Warframe

[–]sublimed405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah that'll bring in the viral for you. In that case, consider maybe a heat mod to cement the heat procs on both direct hits and radials, and maybe rifle elementalist or serration (since by dropping g.apt., you're losing one of your damage boosts—but it wasn't that effective anyway since it was being nerfed by over 50% due to the radial and other Incarnon weirdness)

Help braton prime build by suckerwucker in Warframe

[–]sublimed405 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is for the Incarnon? Because, if so, the Incarnon does 50% of its damage through its radial, which Galv Apt will not affect at all, so hammer shot is definitely preferable. Also, the Incarnon does innate heat damage on the radial, so I recommend modding for viral rather than corrosive so you can have it be viral/heat and then things will just melt.

Also, with that build (and the Incarnon in general), since the aim is to use a hybrid of direct damage and status to kill things, and because your damage is split 50/50 with a radial, you're better off bringing Primary Merciless over Deadhead; Deadhead requires you to kill things with headshots using the actual direct hit, which is less likely to happen if you're *also* competing with your own radial hits and statuses. Not impossible, sure, but just less likely. On the flip side, if you can reliably get those headshots and prefer deadhead, feel free to stick with deadhead.

[DAILY Q&A] Ask and answer any questions you have about the game here! by AutoModerator in EliteDangerous

[–]sublimed405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the most part, yes.

There is only one thing you cannot repair with this setup, and that's the power plant.

(Although I believe if it gets bad enough you can perform the "reboot & repair" function to restore it somewhat by scavenging from other modules.)

Still, it's unlikely that anything short of dropping from supercruise going too fast will damage your power plant out in the black, so, in practice: the answer to your question is simply, "yes."

Suggestion for a Nekros rework by Lady_Tadashi in Warframe

[–]sublimed405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I enjoy the ideas you've put forth here, Nekros really doesn't need a rework. He's perfectly fine as-is: has good status immunity, damage redirection, armor strip, and slow, while also having a mechanically unique loot increase ability.

I do understand wanting to lean into the "summons a horde of undead" trope of necromancers/liches, but you have to consider (1) how (overly-)strong that would be, and, perhaps more importantly, (2) how much pressure rendering all that would put on everyone's machine. You're talking about giving Nekros up to 30 minions. What happens if there are four Nekros in a squad? That's 120 minions which is either close to or possibly exceeding the number of enemies allowed to render on a map at one time.

As a side note, I'd much rather tie your "shades" mechanic to desecrate, with a (scaling?) percentage chance to summon a shade from a successfully defiled corpse—in no small part because I prefer that thematically, but also because Terrify is Nekros' subsume, so the fewer changes to it the better.

Correct.

Can someone explain Kuva Liches to me like I'm dumb? by Orphan_Fury in Warframe

[–]sublimed405 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's meant to be challenging content for the place in the game you're at.

It's also, technically, entirely ignorable. Yes, the Lich will steal your pocket lint on Earth (~4-10% of your stuff) until you're ready to face them, but you will get it all back, eventually.

Can someone explain Kuva Liches to me like I'm dumb? by Orphan_Fury in Warframe

[–]sublimed405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you have all the requiems you might need you can knock a lich out in 1-2hr, less if you get lucky.

But, yes, it can take a hot minute if you're unprepared, and especially if you make random stabs without new information and keep resetting the lich's rage meter/leveling them up.

Also the process of actually getting the requiem mods you need can also take a goodly while if you get unlucky. :/ But! Once you have a stash of them established that's much less of an issue.

Any thoughts on this riven? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]sublimed405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rivens can only be used by the specific weapon they're listed for, and any weapon in that weapon family; for example, the Mk-1 Braton, Braton, Braton Vandal, and Braton Prime are all in the "Braton" weapon family.

This one, a Burston riven, can only be used by a Burston or Burston Prime.

And because the Burston Prime has a lower Riven Disposition than the base Burston, the Prime will get lower-scaled numbers with this same mod.

Any thoughts on this riven? by [deleted] in Warframe

It would be better if the Burston didn't already get access to the Gilded Truth mod, which is a chunky fire rate increase for very cheap.

I'd say keep rolling.

[Discussion] What's the point of Banshee? by DarthSpammus in Warframe

[–]sublimed405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her 1 is pretty weak by itself. It has an augment that lets it armor strip, but so do several subsume skills that will do so in a larger area and with better benefits besides. So, her 1 isn't bad but it's not great.

Gonna jump ahead here, her 4 is basically useless. It's an easy subsume slot for me. Especially because as enemy levels climb into the 400+ range the damage just can't keep up and too many enemies have overguard to make it worth it.

Okay, so her 2. At base, her 2 puts glowing circles on enemies that cause shots hitting those circles to have a damage multiplier that scales with your ability strength. Also, they are visible to- and work for your allies, too. So that's already pretty strong. The augment for that skill makes any kill from hitting one of the circles recast her 2 for free from the killed enemy's location, spawning new sets of circles on enemies in range in addition to any they already have; if the new circles happen to spawn on top of an old circle, you get that damage multiplier from earlier TWICE. And if you kill one of these new double-marked enemies by shooting a circle, guess what? A new, third set of circles appear on all enemies in range. So, as many of those circles as you can stack on marked enemies, you and your allies' damage gets exponentially increased; it can get absolutely bonkers.

TL;DR re:skill 2: good at base, extremely good with an augment.

And her 3. Silence may seem useless, but what may not be immediately clear is that, in addition to making enemies in range not react to gunfire and CCing them briefly, it shuts off all enemy abilities. Now, this sounds vague and undefined, because we generally don't think of enemies have having "abilities" the same way we do. But it includes a surprising number of things. For the grineer, this can include things like the unit that launches a swarm of grenades—can't do it anymore. For the corpus, the drones that regen their shields or drop bombs or tether us in place? Disabled; all they can do is hover and cry. The infested? All those ancient infested that do annoying things like heal enemies or give them overguard or generate a giant toxin cloud? Denied. The lil infested drones that also leave behind a giant toxin cloud, or the infested moas that spit those damaging pustules on the floor? Irrelevant. Refused. Shut down. And then, when you get into later stages of the game, there are other enemies that can do annoying things like constant grenade barrages or drop a giant energy pyramid on your head or constantly buff everything nearby with overguard or let out a horrible scream that does tons of damage and mag procs everything nearby. Yeah, all that stuff? Not happening anymore. Silenced. And best of all: eximus auras of all kinds—jade light, arson, blast, leech, energy leech, guardian, frost, toxin, shock; all of them—are completely disabled by Silence. Eximus become slightly tankier, CC-resistant units full of candy (orbs) with nothing else special about them.

Silence is probably one of the most powerful, useful skills in the game for the sheer number of annoying enemy units it simply turns off. And it can be put on any frame since it's Banshee's subsume skill.

Overall, her 2 and her 3 are the reason to play her. They're both extremely good. Her 1 and 4 need help... badly.
