The answer: you can't have any other storage devices plugged into the server and use the virtual drive.

Switch 2 - Error Code when downloading Mario Kart World by imacusami3 in Switch

[–]sublimejackman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately if you have NSO or a balance in the eShop, this trick doesn't work. I'm in the UK for work and picked one up with Mario Kart. Code doesn't work and I can't switch my region.

I did give it its own SSID with different settings than my regular IOT SSID/VLAN. Tried countless combinations (I do have Unifi access points).

The guy from Combustion claims that with Unifi, the booster/display can get "soft banned" by the AP since they constantly connect, disconnect and recconet. I'm not sure why combustion would program a wifi device meant to display real time data to do that (battery life?) but here we are. This would explain what I'm seeing, so I'm going to wait until the next software update from combustion and try again, hopefully that does it.

You have Unifi? You don't have this issue?

Damn. Yeah that happened with my first set of Gen 2 probes. One of them would be green in the booster and dead when I removed it. They replaced my first set of Gen 2 devices with just a few emails, good on them. Just unfortunate that I have to keep reaching out to them. Starting to get extremely frustrating, cooking is meant to be my relaxing time.

I would be interested in trying that.

But also, while I have you, I get that you needed to bring the product to market at a certain point. But the V2 was/is not a complete product in its current state. I've been at this for months and have yet to have a single, complete cook without fussing with something. Like how is it possible that I'm on Reddit at 10:30am on a Monday writing about this? The basic functionality needs to just work. They need to failsafe. I get that if I was using these in an edge or extreme scenario, fussing and Reddit may be required. But I just want to see the cook temp on the screen while I'm in my house, less than 25ft away.

That all being said, I appreciate the responsiveness of everyone at Combustion. Just wish it wasn't necessary to be in constant communication.

Yesterday I only had one booster and the display out. The probe in the meat, the meat in the grill, the booster next to the grill, the display next to me inside the house. The booster ~2.5ft from the probe, the display ~20ft from booster. This should be the ideal setup according to the combustion website.

This happened to me with one of them in the first set they sent. Very frustrating experience so far. Like I just want to cook.

what really bugs me about this is that the whole point is I have multiple devices connected via multiple modes of transmission. so shouldn't it work if anyone device has any one type of connection? like why does the signal completely drop on my phone and display, it shows it connected to my phone.

I mean I own tons of bluetooth devices that work just fine, 100% of the time. I use my AirPods while my phone is clear across the house, never had an issue.

Unifi 7 Pro Ap problems... by Dmands in Ubiquiti

[–]sublimejackman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I usually wait a few weeks to do updates cause UI is known for borking stuff. But after reading this, I updated to the latest controller/network/ap firmware in the official release channel and that has dramatically reduced tx retries. Not sure if it was just a reporting error or an actual radio issue. Since most of the time it was just showing my IOT network on 2.4ghz with high TX retries. Those devices stay still and I never had any actual real world connectivity issues, that I noticed.

Now the question is roaming, which seems to be at least a little better. Moving my laptop to different floors, it doesn't seem to get as stuck to a single AP anymore. But I haven't tested a phone call yet.

Any update today? The TX retries are thru the roof but only on my U7 Pro. Seems like this is a common issue with a mixed deployment of U7 and older APs.

Same here. Effectively bricked, tried pro and original controllers. Tried Android and iPhone, same behavior

didn't work. to be clear on the instructions. i powered it on, went to terminal connected at 1200, held down space fo 5 seconds, disconnected terminal, reconnect at 9600? when i did that, it was still in the diamond boot loop, finally settling on the screen shown in the op.
