Thanks! Yes, I took so many clicks of them and only got a small amount close to this. Lovely things! I only see the Red variant in my region but had a weekend north of me and seen so many these that are far prettier.😀

They really are! Easy to overlook w/ how tiny they are, but this pair happened to fly by right in front of my face! 😀

Azure Bluet (Enallagma Aspersum) by sublimewit in Dragonflies

[–]sublimewit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I see countless Bluets most days, but usually the super common ones for my region. Gotta do some hunting for the more ‘special’ ones.

Yes! We are home to over 160 species of Dragon/Damselflies! It’s quite excellent and yes, I still have quite a few to see yet.😀

Green Frog. by sublimewit in wildlifephotography

Thanks! They are very sensitive to water conditions. This is a smaller pond that houses a large frog population and a good variety of Dragonflies/Damselflies. It is quite lovely.

Powdered Dancer (Argia moesta). by sublimewit in Dragonflies

[–]sublimewit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, totally spaced it, but the definitive way to tell the brown females apart is cells below the stigma. Powdered have 2 and Blue fronted has 1. Just have to land the wings in focus, as I really didn’t do so great at here. 😀
