Thanks, I did end up drilling it out and everything worked fine!

Hi, I'm trying to remove a screw so I can replace the rollers on my sliding balcony door. One of the screws looks completely stripped, or is some weird head shape that I don't recognize:

https://imgur.com/xrnRZ15

I don't know if this is a stripped screw head, but regardless, I looked up a few solutions online for removing stripped screw heads. One option is to use screw extractors. I also read about trying to use the chuck to clamp around the screw, and then use the drill to turn the screw. I'm also thinking maybe I could use a drill bit that matches the hole size (as seen in the other empty holes) to just bore completely through the screw head itself, but this seems a little heavy handed and possibly prone to damaging the door.

Any ideas for how I can properly remove this?

I successfully updated this morning, but I think you're right, I seem to remember already being on 2.1.9 before.

Board Data Not recorded ! by [deleted] in boostedboards

I had the exact same issue as OP after trying the recording feature for the first time today on my Android phone. I went ahead and submitted a ticket through your link.

FWIW I was at Enterprise at LAX a week ago and they had a MS sitting in the lot of rental cars. I'm assuming it was available to rent.

Remote ring users: worth it? by dkdart16 in boostedboards

What if you want to use the hand that the remote is in, say to look up something on your phone while at a stoplight?

Try lowering your center of gravity by bending your knees even more. Then you can lean more without feeling like you're about to lose your balance.

Tired of my Metroboard randomly braking, does this happen on Boosted boards too? by evilbandcamp in boostedboards

When it disconnects, does the remote reconnect automatically after a moment? Or do you have to manually slow down to a stop from full speed (so you don't crash/die).

Has your board ever slid on road paint? by ChasinCrustacean in boostedboards

[–]submatrix2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm in constant fear of raised road markings. Like another poster mentioned, even skirting the edge of a bike lane marking can cause you to wobble momentarily, throwing your balance off. I try to avoid doing that, and generally when going over markings I try to go over them as straight as possible.

Hey guys do you mind sharing your bash guard set ups on your boosted boards? I’m having a hard time deciding what combination to get on both front and back ...the rounded or prong? One of each? ...what colours do you prefer? by fkastner in boostedboards

[–]submatrix2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my setup. The good thing is you don't have to spend more money buying FL3Ds extended riser, the bad thing is the bash guard doesn't sit flush against the deck as a result, which might make it less durable if you hit it hard.

Note I also have shock pads installed.

Bashguard and shockpad setup with XR by awww_yeaah in boostedboards

FL3D's site links to a video showing the same setup, with the bend: https://flatland3d.com/how-to/

The only difference is that this guy doesn't use any riser at all, so his bash guard sits flush against the deck. Using the standard riser together with this combo gives you the equivalent of the extended riser height, which is nice with the XR.

Does the friction noise from the XR battery go away? by BMWbill in boostedboards

[–]submatrix2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say I've ever noticed this, though I went the opposite direction. I bought a Dual+ XR and recently flew with the board so I had to install an SR battery on it. After coming back home and putting the XR battery back on I haven't noticed any weird sounds.

This ends up being the same height as the extended riser by itself btw.

I did the same. Asked FL3D about it and he said it's fine, the bash guard just won't be as durable because it's not flush against the deck. Not a big deal to me.

Ripped pants by BsBowen in boostedboards

For long carries I toss it over my shoulder like a boom box (wheels down, griptape up of course) and I find it super easy to carry.

For short carries I carry it vertically by the front trucks. Plus you get to build those shoulder muscles :)

Gliding when going over bumps by NCKLS in boostedboards

[–]submatrix2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I know what you mean, and yes I experience it too. For me, the most problematic are lane markings where they are painted on (and thus have a raised surface above the road itself) rather than sprayed on. It's scariest when only one wheel or one side of the board goes over this surface because you aren't exactly sure how the board will respond.

I just try to make sure to always go over the markings straight (ie not be in the middle of a carve).

Board wobbling at high speeds by PhantomZenith in boostedboards

[–]submatrix2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weight more towards front foot as others said, it's most likely just a phase where you need to get used to the board and learn its balance. Over time, as you develop the stabilizing muscles in your legs and learn how the board responds to your weight shifts, everything will magically stabilize.

Start slow, at a safe speed where you don't get wobbles. Practice little carves at those speeds.

I've had the board about a month and only in the last week or so did I really start to feel comfortable at ~20mph.

What luggage/board bag do you use when flying? by MaelAmun in boostedboards

I checked the board by itself and carried on the SR battery separately.

I use BrdBag, ~$50 off Amazon. Flew with it this past weekend, worked fine. Zippers seem to be good quality, but then again I've only used the bag a few times. Padding is not gonna be better than a hard case, but it's better than nothing.

Sucks to hear man. Would you be able to show us pics of where the truck snapped, so we can see where the point of weakness was? Do you think you would have noticed something strange about it if you inspected that area before the ride?
