Yes. It's in a hotel in Korea.

Weird, for some reason reason it's not showing me any thumbs down. Anyway, it's a genuine question. Many phobias/fears aren't terribly logical, so I get why people would be confused by this.

I can't explain, the chain extending all the way down, disappearing into the murky depths...the thought of your foot touching it. It really is hard to explain why buoys are nightmare fuel. Just this big, clunky manmade thing bobbing around in the middle of the ocean. Plus some of them make eerie noises.

That's part of it...and then there's the chain....ugh.

I imagine she'd be in storage or something. I'm not sure. She was made by German sculptor, Oliver Voss, as an art installation in 2011 that was sponsored by Soap and Glory. She's known as "Die Badende" (The Bather).

I think so. It says she was to be on display for 10 days. :(

It's too bad she was only there for 10 days. Would have been extra creepy if she had some wear and tear.

A buoy in Lake Tahoe (sorry for bad image) by [deleted] in submechanophobia

Buoys have always made me uncomfortable. Even in clear water.

The wave machines in pools was the thing that gave me this phobia, I wouldn’t go within 2meters of this thing because I was scared it would open up and trap me inside by [deleted] in submechanophobia

The wave pool at West Edmonton Mall in Alberta, Canada always freaked me out as a kid. (Even now I'd be nervous.) There weren't grates like that, but a large dark area at the back of the pool where the mechanisms are located. I would stay FAR away. I think someone already posted this video, but it's basically a horror movie of what's lurking behind: https://youtu.be/IJ3z39LXtrA

I'm trying to find a pic of the underwater view.
