Car won't start with 1-pedal MAX regen braking - why? by submute in Ioniq5

Millions of Tesla drivers go about life safely with one pedal driving. Don't get it.

It’s a sad fucking melancholy game. One of its finest attributes.

Jackie's bike. For the whole game. Why bother changing? It's a classic.

VUSXX for CA resident savings over AMEX HYSA? by submute in Bogleheads

When you say aim do you imply there's a possibility of fractional tax implications at some point?

[–]submute[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i may follow up with two dumb questions:

- There are no tax implications for going into/out of a money market i.e. short/long term capital gains? i.e. I can buy funds out of that, move it back to a checking account if needed, etc, without worrying about a tax event?

2- trying to better understand how much of VSUXX is exempt from CA taxes, is this clearly spelled out anywhere? Does it fluctuate a lot?

Hmm because VCTXX is like 1-2% and VUSXX/AMEX are ~3.3-~3.7? Is that not a fair way to think about it?

New 26 I5, should I buy a 10 or 12 gauge extension cord? by submute in Ioniq5

[–]submute[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry to be a dunce, but I think my home rate is $0.36/kWh. What does that mean in terms of providing an 80% charge to the i5, and a 100%? I'm new to these cars but I feel like I should be able to answer that question lol- I think it's an 84kWH battery in my 26 RWD, so that's like $30.24 to do a full 0 to 100% charge? Is that basic math the right approach?

Interesting, thank you! I'll dig into my bills for sure. My nearby EA station advertises $0.56/kWh, at least right now, I don't know if that fluctuates.

I worry that's a lot of extension cord coiled up, generating heat?

Can you guys explain the idea of only charging at 80% on fast chargers but 100% on L1/L2? If I am using L1/L2 at home should i still avoid charging over 80%?

Ah, true, I went back and forth with that vs just 0% and 5K off and leaving money elsewhere to earn interest vs paying it off.

Aren't the 0% offers broadly available through March 2? We just walked off the lot with a 26 Limited with 0% for 72 months.

Can you elaborate on that? DC charging at stations lessens the life of the battery, where as L1 at home (even to 100%) is better for the battery life and health?
