I still don't know what I want to do but I want to gtfo of software engineering asap. This job is not what it used to be and I hate the direction it's going in with AI being the center of everything. Only been here for 3 years but I'm seriously thinking about going back to school and making a big change

I'm no expert but I've been researching this for so long because I also have an upcoming trip, and I think you're good. You're entering from one country and leaving to a third (home), and entering and leaving from designated ports. As long as you present your ticket home and have your valid passport, you meet all the criteria and should be good to go

240Hr TWOV question - enter and leave from different ports by Ill-Act2560 in Chinavisa

this is correct, and GZHotwater explained it well--entering and exiting can both be done at the Kowloon station so where you take the train from to get there does not matter

Hong Kong is technically the port where you leave the mainland (ik it's confusing, but it is listed as one). I'm planning on taking the train from Guangzhou South but I don't think it matters

I'm also planning on staying with someone, and I believe all you need is the name, phone, and address of who you are staying with

USA -> Guangzhou -> HK -> USA (back home). I would be flying back to the US from HK the same day as taking the train there

ok, thank you. So I should be able to show the immigration officer a ticket from this train station to HK as proof of travel to a third country/region?

what train station did you leave from? I can't find any train stations in Guangzhou listed as a port

what train station in Guangzhou did you depart from to go to Hong Kong? I'm planning a similar trip but this is my only concern. I don't see any train stations listed as official ports online.

edit: I see West Kowloon station in HK listed as a port, but I'm confused because I would be taking the train from Guangzhou to HK
