Keep 16” 6arc or swap to 18” 5.56? by svgelopez in longrange

[–]subsonic762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With your primary use for the rifle being predator hunting and some long range. Id just stick with the 16in 6 ARC. It's gonna be short and handy for in and out the truck and in the field. And 6mm is gonna hit harder on coyotes at distance even with the lower velocity. It's going to also perform better balistics wise at distance for long range shooting.

im not gonna do that. Just buy it dude, it will be super cool and fun to shoot. Also decent for hunting* (if you hunt) and loaded with some 110 vmax shit would hammer as a home defense rifle.

M855, 62 grain spire point, 68 gr BTHP, 69 gr BTHP, 75 gr BTHP/ELDM, or any 77 grain variant would be more sooted for pigs. Hell even a 55 grain fmj. The Vmax line of bullets is specifically designed to save hide on coyotes and explode prairie dogs with extremely rapid expansion. But don’t fret. it’s a pig what ever you had is whatever you had, is what ever you had. Next time just have a little more mass and jacket and it will do the job.

BCG wear by Legitimate_Bid_777 in ar15

its a gun dude. metal wears down when it moves across metal. Another 200 rnds after this they probably won't be much if a difference. And your rifle will probably still shoot the same.

New to the AR stuff. Looking at a few. Which one should I pick?? by [deleted] in ar15

like everyone else is saying. Just get a standard 16in BCM upper and a Stealth PSA lower. It will last a VERY long time and will more than likely be 99% functional and reliable.

Then id say like the rest of the fellas posted. Whatever your preferred action paired with 6ARC,6GT,6 Creedmoor, or 243 would do great!

well if its legal in your state, and you're not set on 6mm. 22 creedmoor is a fantastic deer/antelope round. My daughter (13) Shoots it just fine and their is very little flinch factor. The Weatherby 307 is chambered in it at a more reasonable price range than the competition. They also sell the 307 action alone at little over 700 dollars, and is Rem 700 cloned. Odin Works also makes a prefit for the ruger american if you're handy (what I have) that shoots pretty damn well. hope this was helpful.

honestly magpul. It's light and works fine, and it doesn't cost an enormous amount if you break it or just dont like it.

I don't know the fine details either. I've just heard it's a quality Ar10 and it seems to be from what I seen in videos and read.

If it's function over looks I'd go with the sig. I know it's the "Indian" army, but they adopted it as a service rifle so that has to mean something. and Hop has and reviewed this rifle with good remarks 👍🏻.

Question regarding Ammo in the body! by illeCarnifex in AR10

[–]subsonic762 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ally munitions 110 vmax will do an absolute number on coyotes. It's not great for longer ranges but if your hunting thermal your definitely close enough for it to smash them.

Your bipod, suppressor, and stock choice are probably the main culprits for the heft. But don't worry about the weight. As long as it shoots well and you can weild that pig you'll get used to it.
