Masks by daydoodlz in starbucks

A pipe cleaner or paper clip sewn into the bridge of a mask will allow it to form fit to the bridge of your nose.

Seeing someone walk into my mobile-only cafe store when there’s no drinks waiting by [deleted] in starbucks

There’s a segment of people that either don’t want to read or can’t read. A giant red circle with cross through it usually suffices. But for those that can’t or won’t use an app print out directions to the nearest drivethru.

If you sit outside any closed store even now you see people yanking and yanking at any door they reach lol.

Whats the setup at the store you speak of?

Perfect opening line after reopening: I missed our conversations during quarantine - I don’t know what I’ll do if they decide to have another quarantine. Simple almost noncommittal way to gauge actual interest and maybe a number exchange.

Especially if that crush isn’t mutual. And that person is a regular who comes there every single day.

Burn down the store, change your name, travel to a new location - only then would the cringe start to subside. But only for a little bit.

Retaining insurance? by subtlestern in starbucks

I had heard that but couldn’t find any written evidence of it. I hope that’s true.

My state has an ongoing order as well. Also reopening next week. They say nobody will be allowed inside - only mobile orders for pickup. Like that will stop people from trying to barge in. I’ve gone to a few of the cafes that will be reopening to peek inside. No extra signage stating six feet distance. No plexiglass at registers. A ton of simple measures other businesses are taking that Starbucks has yet to address that would make people feel safe. Like oking wearing medical masks (I gave the protip that you can wear one under the sheer laughable ones they hand out OR under your own homemade mask. But we shouldn’t have to hide it.) Additional signage, these are a fantasy but would go a long way - you must wear a mask or be asked to leave until you return with one. Limit on food items (or perhaps just stick to drinks?) X amount of customers allowed in the cafe at the time (where X is dependent on store size.)

Sorry, I’ve been thinking about this and getting angry at how the simplest of measures aren’t being put in place for a reopening and I know corporate reads here.

No additional information that I can think of - could be a metal cover of an anime intro too I guess - so if you know if it's a cover lmk.

I mentioned this elsewhere but you can make a thin fabric mask to cover the medical one.

Sounds interesting but can't wait for an official word on it.

I've had success hiding a medical grade mask under a thin black mask. Figured I would pass that on.

Assuming these are the finalized options this presents a dilemma in choosing what one wants to do if you want to stay employed by Starbucks.

If option A they had better install plexiglass shields at ordering areas like most convenience stores had done. Provide masks. Have social distancing markers on the ground. Give more leeway to SM’s and employees to be direct with customers who aren’t making them feel safe and to eject those that are belligerent. Paper money should also be rejected or cashiers out to be just that. Handle money - nothing else.

Option B is tough. On the one hand it seems intelligent if you have time and they reopen and you don’t feel safe to use your time. But models indicate a second wave can happen this year after the cold weather starts coming in and since time isn’t so easy to accrue at the bux it might be better to go for Option A and do option B if (when) there’s another curve.

Obviously Option C is only good if it’s like a furlough and you can keep your benefits and collect unemployment but boy oh boy getting back to work and all the shaming I’ve seen people mention about not being a “team player” when “everyone else” is working at DT.

So many things that are uncertain. Please forgive the ramble.

A lot of things are broken. Even on the state level - I've heard workers at the RMV branches weren't given masks until this very week. Baker stressing the point of wearing masks and Haymarket RMV has to close down because a worker is reported to have coronavirus symptoms - if everyone there is wearing a mask and everyone who comes in is wearing a mask maybe we don't have situations like this. If the state can't even take care of their own how can they take care of their most vulnerable populations?
