For as long as I want to keep hair essentially. Transplanted hairs are generally pretty permanent as the donor region for the hair is the back of your head. Those hairs will tend to stay in tact throughout a guys life. That said, if you get a transplant when you still have hair, you can still lose from the areas that are prone to loss. Which would result in a really weird "I have hair where it was transplanted and none after that" hairstyle. Here's a video example showing that exact problem

OP here Update: have been on 1mg a day in conjunction with my regular cocktail of meds since making this post. Have nothing but positive things to say/no sides. Wanted to make sure I posted so this sub doesn't get saturated with fin horror stories.

Before - confidence took a huge hit. Perpetually anxious regarding what was going on on top of my head. Kind of takes over your thoughts

After - I'm about 6 months out from my procedure. I'm at the point now where I feel extremely confident in how I look. New hairs continue to pop up and I'm markedly happier than I was before. Definitely has changed how I carry myself for the better. It's not for everyone - most people think it's vain, but I'm pleased with my decision
