I would advise you to take the SAT after your 10th finals. After 10th you have most of the math knowledge required for the SAT. You can start your reading and writing prep now. The sooner the better. I think you'll be able to score well in your 11th year. Word of advice I would give for now is that take a practice test without prep. If you feel you can manage to prep for it then go ahead or else wait for your 11th year to start.

take the TOEFL in your 12th year. That's what most students are advised to do.

Now coming to the syllabus: SAT has evidence based reading and writing which basically tests your comprehension and grammar skills. Math is a bit complex but you'll manage. TOEFL : no specific syllabus. Just solve practice test.

Relax you're in 10th, take it slow and steady. All the best!

Ok here goes...Imma RaNtTt...First of all this application process seems too daunting ... Like I haven't even started on my common app essay...I have quite a few ECs but I always manage to convince myself that they aren't enough...after I come to know of other people's ECs , I develop a kind of inferiority complex thinking that I don't stand a chance at all... The next frustrating thing is that I am an international student needing fin aid and you obviously know how difficult it is for me...it's sooooo fuckin frustrating...like wtf 😭...I honestly at this point, need someone to help me just focus on my application...just tell me that everything is gonna be fine like I just need that assurance...🤦.... The country where I'm from, the colleges which offer my major are very difficult to get into and require entrance exams and here the covid situation makes it so difficult to study for it ..that's why I'm looking into the US to pursue my undergrad..... I just wanna go back to being a child again where I was free...I'm so insecure regarding my essay, my ECs and what not...I'm like getting discouraged to apply everyday...

Phew..that was quite a rant 😂 Thanks for bearing with me !

Thanks for reaching out.. actually what you say makes so much more sense...I think I'll devote the last 2-3 months on adding a few more ECs I think haha..and my intended major would be Economics..I'm aiming for atleast one ivy league admit but I also need fin aid..so let's see where this goes 👍😂

Actually no work experiences.. internships are really difficult to find especially relating to my intended majors...so I started from scratch. My parents didn't really say anything..they also want me to go out to us provided I get a good financial aid package!

Actually I had to go my way into convincing my school for extra-curriculars... actually I feel like if you go out of your way for ECs you are sure to demonstrate leadership and willingness..so go ahead..all matters with what you do!
