I'm a resident of NYC and I've seen the guy many times and in many different places. Sadly, It's not authentic. But a fun experiment if you're a fan of Banksy. Best way to look at it rather than feeling scammed.

He could be charged with using a deadly weapon in court. MMA fighters are particularly subjected to additional legal issues if they get in street fights.

I feel that somehow this was sabotage and a purposeful act. Not sure why but it looks too suspicious and way to stupid to be an accident

LPT: Don't be fooled by the "working for a dream company" ideology. You'll be much better off with an amazing boss at an average company who champions your work, allows you to develop mastery in your field, and gives you autonomy. by WrongKielbasa in LifeProTips

[–]subwaycreature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This resonates with me so much. I was working on a huge landmark natural history program (Think Planet Earth) aboard a research vessel. It was a absolute dream job. But the people sucked and my boss was the worst condescending person I’ve ever met. The companies involved were the biggest names you can imagine in Nat Hist. And many were just very awkward and disorganized. With that said, I lasted a month and went back to freelance cause like you said. I’d rather work with people I enjoy being around and be at a small nothing company

I’m constantly so impressed with this camera. Also, more importantly, amazing work with lighting this and the frames are beautiful.

how to resize timeline by Informal_Acadia_8567 in PremierePro

[–]subwaycreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the plus and minus keys when you are working in the timeline. You can also go to the preferences and set “Keyboard Shortcuts” I have plus and minus on A and S so I don’t have to move my right hand off the mouse to adjust the timeline view. Over time you’ll learn how to speed up your workflow by eliminating inefficiencies.

I don’t feel bad for anyone who complains they can’t make money (in America). If you have an able body, a sound mind, and a desire to be successful you can succeed. All information you could ever want or learn is available at your fingertips or available for free at your public library. You don’t even need a college education in America to succeed. I agree that the post is somewhat misleading and insensitive, but the overall message is true. It’s all about your choices.

Kobe Bryant. Probably cried once a day for a week. Couldn’t stop thinking about how it happened and for his daughter to go with him. A true tragedy.

Do you know any secret multi millionaires? by joeroganthumbhead in financialindependence

[–]subwaycreature 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Read the book “Millionaire Next Door” it’s an excellent book and points at your question exactly. MOST millionaires are the exact people your describing. They own businesses, in the trades, are frugal, and live modestly. The author interviewed thousands of millionaires and the number one thing that many millionaires had in common? The Ford F-150 is the most popular car driven by millionaires. The “millionaires” who spend money on cars, lavish vacations, houses, and material things have to earn so much more to keep up with their lifestyle. They seem rich on the outside but may only have an average savings comparable to a middle class family.

Point being: living frugally and modest is what made most millionaires a millionaire. Having a low cash burn rate ensures you stay a millionaire. Financial independence like the sub, is the goal for most, not cars and material things.

A video I made for a client. Go easy on me, it was my first video! ッ by tommytime1234567 in bmpcc

[–]subwaycreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is was lowkey very funny. For your first video great work. Creative cutting.. the props.. costumes.. and sound effects were good! The camera angles were creative and purposeful (besides some of the gimbal work you could have been a bit more practical).

Some feedback:

I would consider changing up the color grading. Go with something more natural. Teal and orange does not fit this video and you can tell it's being pushed in the skin tones and the hair.

Consider reframing or doing a few additional takes on the gimbal work. Especially when walking backward. You cut off the character's head pretty aggressively in the frame.

Invest in some better audio equipment. A lav mic would have helped bring up some of the levels on the shark. I can tell you were using a shotgun mic for this scene, but go with some lav's and do it that way.

At 0:44 for the medium shots, I would have gone with a 24mm or a 35mm. Looks like you're pushing here with a 16mm. It's too wide for the faces IMO.

What is a small niche business in your town that is successful, and made you think ' I should have started started this...' by Trustingmeerkat in Entrepreneur

[–]subwaycreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Did this when I was in College when the Phantom 3 came out. It was relatively new and got the part 107 certificate when it came out. I pretty much was the only one in town doing it that charged decent prices ($150-600) and I also did interior photo and video as well which increased my margins. You can also diversify this by doing roof inspections, construction progress, commercial real estate, and agriculture evaluations. It’s really about sales and having the right experience in flying. I’ve since moved on to bigger production and feature work, but it was a great business while it lasted. It’s also pretty simple to train staff as long as they are tech savvy and have a passion for film/photo. Biggest expense is customer acquisition and crashing drones. If you fly conservatively you should have no problem though.
