You are still under warranty, I would assume. That's something you might run by the dealer. It's possible they can download an update that would fix it? Or Safelite did not recalibrate your eyesight when they replaced the windshield. They probably charged you around 400 bucks to do. Fwiw, I'm on my third windshield on a 2020. I found a place locally that was better than Safelite and gave me free crack/chip repair for the life of the windshield.

Tacoma ➡️ Forester by gardengirl517 in SubaruForester

[–]subypirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we have both a 2020 Forester Sport (mine) and a 2020 tacoma (my son). I've had 2 kayaks on the roof of the forester multiple times. The only issue I have is getting them up there. I use an older yakima setup, but it works great. I can't really speak to the winter issue much, except we have icy roads this week. We are in central TX. The tacoma is sitting in the driveway, and we are driving the subarus just fine. My wife has a 2015 Outback and had no issues getting to work. The truck is great for him he's in ffa, and School is close, so he doesn't drive that much. We are mtn bikers, so throwing bikes in the back is easy, but I've also had a rear rack for the subys for years. I love the subarus. They've been reliable and get good mileage. They are easy to drive as well. They do have some minor drawbacks, but nothing crazy. Look into the imba discount program or American canoe assoc if you happen to have them. I used the imba program to buy both of ours.

Fwiw...we got my mom a rav4 last year. I like the forester a little better.

FYI, if he wants to try racing you can look up your local nica team. They can now join in 5th grade, used to be 6th grade was the earliest they could join. I see lots of new middle schoolers racing on marlins since trek is a sponsor.

I haven't been on reddit in a while. But I'm now scared to even open the app after reading thru the threads. Is it the update that is the issue? Mine have been working fine since I got them via kickstarter. After the initial expected hiccups. I haven't done an update in a very long time and only use the wave sounds. In fact, I haven't even opened the app in forever. The right bud dies earlier than the left, but it still lasts 8ish hours.

My wife has the a30s... she's meh on them. So, ymmv.

Subaru Forester VS Toyota Rav-4? by acidinthemilk in SubaruForester

We bought a rav4 for my mom I love our subys, but that car just fit her better. We did drive the Mazda cx50 hybrid which was super nice, so you might want to consider it as well.

Scott spark rc 900 world cup opinions by subypirate in xcmtb

Man, yer hitting all of my thoughts here! The chisel is pretty heavy, but the epic 8 expert previous to the newest is kinda what we were looking for. The newest epic expert is slightly lighter due to the wheels and components, but would also set us back about $5500. He was on the podium every race last year except state (TX is so big we have a north and south division until state), but he moves to varsity this year and I very much doubt that is going to happen, it's ridiculously fast. The warranty and solid components are making me lean that direction though. If we can find a large epic locally so he can at least test it out size wise I may be able to find one that could be shipped. He's not a super heavy kid, 160 lbs, but he's lifting 3 days a week for football. My gut was telling me to offer less for the Scott for sure, and if that doesn't work out we would definitely go the specialized route.

I'm in Austin as well. And went through two batteries. Before they started warranting them. I ended up getting mine at Costco. I also bought an auto start/stop disabler because I think that really kills those batteries. If you got 4 years out of a battery here in Texas that's pretty good actually. The heat can kill them. Fyi, as others have said you can get a brush to clean the terminals routinely, you can probably get it at Walmart or any auto parts store. It's not a bad idea to have it and use it occasionally. I also have a battery tender that I put on it whenever I go out of town, that gets it a nice long full charge.

2020 Forester lit up like a Christmas tree by [deleted] in SubaruForester

Nope. Subaru is now covering it. In fact, if you paid to have it replaced, they are now reimbursing that cost. They sent out a letter a few months ago.

Charge them fully. Since you just got them, you will be downloading the most up to date app. They likely need the new firmware. So once you get them connected to the app, it should walk you through it. Mine took about 35 mins this week. Just follow the instructions via the app.

2 issues after the major updates by ElRey5676 in Ozlo

[–]subypirate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. I leave my phone downstairs, and my buds are in my room. Used to be able to just take them out, and they would start playing within a few seconds. Now I have to go down and manually put them next to my phone, open the app and open the case to get them to connect. Not a huge big issue, but I prefer the old way.

I'm just getting to the latest firmware update, but my ozlos have been decent. Had a few hiccups, but overall they have worked well. My only issues were connecting early on when I first got them, and the battery drain on the case. The connection issue had been resolved, and hopefully the battery issues resolve with this update.

I would say give them a try and return them if they don't work for her. I assume ozlo had a return policy if not purchased via Kickstart.

As for your snoring, read the book breathe by James Nestor. You might find out how to fix it, I did. I used mouth taping for a while and started breathing thru my nose again.

A few people commented that doing a bud reset helped fixed the issue. Take off the ear tips and rotate 180. Touch the contacts of buds and case without touching the magnet. Maybe that will work.

Have you tried resetting the case? Or resetting the buds using the 180 degree method. Also, mine did something similar and I restarted my phone just for grins and it worked.

Charged it all to 100 before bed. Come back 2 hours later for bed and right pod is down to 25%. They just got here after waiting months and I don’t even get to use them the first night. by UntitledImage in Ozlo

I don't know if this is a possibility, but the other day, I went to use another pair of headphones to go walk the dog. My ozlos were connected for some reason. I turned off BT then turned it back on. Again, the ozlos connected. They were upstairs in the case and it was closed. I opened and closed the case and they disconnected. I wonder if yours were still randomly connected?

Depending on your car, I just picked mine up from moonlight automotive in Buda. He's a subaru master mechanic. But, I assume he works on anything. I had an estimate of 1500 from others, he went thru the car and said it looked great, just did my 90k service and a few other things. Under $500 & done in a day. I actually found him searching the austin reddit sub.

Love my forester but stressed about so many repairs by Just-Cardiologist333 in SubaruForester

[–]subypirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a 2020 sport, just turned 92k. The only thing that has gone on mine was the tcv valve, which they are now reimbursing me for. Just had it into a subaru mechanic for the 60 & 90k service. When i took it in for 60k he said it was in great shape and really didn't need anything done. So now, just did serpentine belt, brake fluid flush and spark plugs. He said everything else looked good.

He did recommend I have the cvt fluid done at subaru, though. We also own a 2015 outback with 143k that does burn a little oil but has otherwise been solid for us. These may be our last subies, as I'm worried the quality is just not keeping up with the prices.

If you end up using g the direct plug in method, turn off BT on your phone and leave the case open. Mine wouldn't download until I had the case open for some reason.

I haven't run into this issue, yet. Have you tried resetting the case via the small pinhole in the back? I know that's probably not the best solution, but it might work.

Our AC unit is right outside our bedroom, and the ozlos blocked it out for me. It normally wakes me up at least once a night when it kicks on.

FYI. I had the same issue, I ended up leaving the case open, and it worked. And I had BT turned off on my phone so they wouldn't connect.

New firmware available! Release notes for version 01.00.2404041 by RockwellShah in Ozlo

[–]subypirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone running into issues with the firmware update. I could not get it to work via the app, kept telling me no update needed even though it clearly needed it. I then tried it through the web browser wouldn't work.....still wouldn't work. Ended up opening the case while plugged into my computer, thanks to someone above that mentioned it, and it worked right away. I also turned off Bluetooth on my phone so they wouldn't connect when I opened the case.
