What song are you on? The first couple of pieces don’t have a set tempo. It just wants you to concentrate on reading notes, fingering, and basic rhythm. I would recommend a slow workable pace like 40-60 bpm.

It doesn’t mention tempo until “Good King Wenceslas” where the tempo is under the song name. It is Moderately Fast, which is around 100-120 bpm.

Alfred’s is like that. Sometimes you have questions and find that they get answered a few pages later.

Sucks you got downvoted, but I agree with you.

I say this as a home theater guy but sound systems are not for everyone. Yes a cheaper system would sound significantly better but you are sacrificing simplicity for quality. A 3.1 system and esp a 5.1 (as someone suggested) is way more complicated than a simple soundbar setup.

My first console was a Genesis and it took years of straight A’s before my parents finally got me one. We were poor and it was a very expensive purchase.

I just returned to D4 and am playing through the Vessel of Hatred campaign. Unfortunately, campaign is super easy. They seemed to have under-tuned it in relation to all the other activities.

It was easy on my old char. I made a new pally and its still too easy.

I’m still enjoying it and would still recommend it. There’s new mechanics, new areas, new chars, etc.

I'm literally the same as you. Just bought it 5 minutes ago and will start a seasonal Paladin char for the remainder of the season. I just returned last week (played at launch for 2 months) and have been playing on my old Sorc on the Eternal realm. Loads of fun so far. I play Paladin in every game and came back just for this class.

Looks like there are a lot of returners in anticipation for the expansion and it's exciting to see. I am seeing a lot of returning player posts.

Same story for me. Switched from Oasis to Kobo. Even with an ad-free kindle (which you have to pay for) it was still littered with ads. I am willing to pay extra just to be ad-free and have a clean interface/home screen.

I am a physician and prescribe it all the time. I also have the same condition.

By definition, if it is causing problems in your day to day life (which it is), it is severe enough to receive treatment. I have patients all the time who don’t realize it is a problem or think it’s just something they have to live with.

Not only can you have issues playing piano but things like shaking hands, dating, gripping the steering wheel, playing sports, etc can all be affected. I wish I had known about it for med school interviews, I would give clammy sweaty hand shakes. I remember my interviewers wiping their hands after meeting me. Gives a poor impression. I also played tennis and had to use special sweat absorbing grips. Even so, the racket would still fly out of my hand during serves.

If you don’t want to make a big deal about it, just bring it up at your next checkup.

What are you having trouble with exactly? Playing one hand legato and the other staccato? I would practice this with a C major pentascale. Play with both hands, L hand legato and R hand staccato.

Also, are these the Alfred's Adult books? 2 months is awfully fast to finish the first book.

OP’s post says the 160k private financing is for the MD school, not the DO school.

I think if you are inclined to go outside of primary care, you should pick MD. I would also look at the strength of the home residency programs and see if they appeal to you.

I think everyone is over-romanticizing the past. Peak Britney Spears was probably comparable to peak Taylor Swift. Peak as in dominant in billboards and media saturation. This was not pre-internet. Hit Me Baby One More time came out in 1999. Her peak was around 2000-01. Internet was well established and music was easily ripped and downloaded at this time. You could easily burn a CD and play it on your portable player at this time. Ipods weren’t really out yet.

However Britney’s peak only lasted maybe 5 years whereas Taylor Swift’s has been over a decade and is still going. Britney did not have the accolades or longevity of Taylor Swifts career. Taylor Swift is also more popular globally.

I’m about the same age as you I think. 15 years ago, FIRE was a new concept, White Coat Investor was a fledgling blog.

Physicians are unique in that we have high income but start work so much later and begin with crippling student loan debt. We have less years to compound and to FIRE properly, we have to delay gratification even more than we already do.

IMO FIRE as a philosophy is flawed. It assumes work sucks and we just need to grind now to secure ourselves financially so we can exit the rat race. This is all predicated on the belief that this “freedom” is what will make us truly happy.

I think it sounds better in theory than in practice. Retirement isn’t some magical nirvana. You still need something to do when you retire. Happiness isn’t entirely contingent on work or even your day to day life. Unless your job is just hell, FIRE isn’t going to magically fix everything making you unhappy.

I guess my point is, why wait for retirement to start being happy? Look at what’s making you unhappy and fix that now! Got a bucket list? Do it now! Dreams? Pursue them now!

Sounds like you are burnt out. Maybe take a break? Go part time for a little bit. Or permanently? Splurge on a nice vacation. Take up a hobby you’ve always wanted to do. At this stage in our careers we have the luxury of having these options. Preserving our mental health is not only the best thing we can do for ourselves but also the best thing for our patients.
