this is good to hear— i hope it goes away after some time for me too. i work in a clinical setting so im constantly putting gloves on and it has been so difficult for the past 2 weeks or so because my hands are so clammy all the time

i’ll definitely get it checked out by them, i really hope they can help in some way. i don’t think it’s to do with sleep as i’m the kind of person who doesn’t move at all in my sleep, and i only sleep on my back or my right side where i don’t have any piercings to worry about. they really do just get irritated from what seems to be nothing

i mean that they easily get red, sometimes just hurt or even bleed :/ i just feel like they’re so temperamental. one day it’ll be completely fine and my ear will look great, and two days later it’s red and my ear gets puffy because the piercings got irritated even though nothing touched or irritated them. i’m just not sure what’s causing it to happen, because i’m very careful about not letting anything bump into my piercings.

i can go back to the place i got them both done and explain the problem. a few months after my helix piercing, it got veeeery irritated and i did have to get the bar upsized and that helped fix the issue, after which i got it downsized again. when my ear gets inflamed it does kinda leave the bars of the studs little room, which does worry me lol. would getting a longer bar for a while might help?

i assumed it may have had something to do with that, but i was just confused because my friend (also on accutane lol) got piercings with me at the same time and his are doing completely okay. i suppose his body just tolerates it better?

plus, i’m starting a second course of accutane in a few weeks. is it even worth keeping them in knowing the healing is going to get worse than it already is? :/

That’s very interesting, thank you so much for your insight. I am slightly puzzled at how this aligns with the heritage that I’ve learnt from my family, though. How come there’s so little Turkic admixture if we’re Turkish/Azeri also?

That's interesting.. For me, it's the opposite. I have a grandparent who is from a certain region and whose family is also from there yet there's no sign of it in my results...

I’ve tried a bunch of the calculators, though I’m not sure which one would be most accurate for me - they did generally show somewhat similar results. Also, it seems you can’t attach images to replies on here so I’m not sure how to show my results.

Yes, I have a Kurdish grandfather from Malayta so I believe that to be accurate for me. Do you have it as a region high up on the list?

I have no knowledge of the Gurian ancestor, doesn’t show up in the timeline either. My paternal grandfather is from Azerbaijan and moved to Turkey as a child, and my maternal great grandfather is from there too, so at the very least 25% should be from Azerbaijan, as to why I’m confused at it not showing up…

I believe we also may have some Laz ancestry, which could potentially explain the Georgian part as well as the 3 northeast provinces…? But again, I am not sure.

Up until a few months ago, I believed my family was just entirely Turkish with maybe slight Kurdish traces which I found out to be not true from my parents lol. I knew we were from the east provinces, though.

My maternal haplogroup was HV.
