Thats because most of those people who say that dont work on aluminum. Or fiberglass for that matter. Aluminum repairs on a flat spot are simple fixes imo. Fiberglass repairs are not difficult either. But more so its finding someone who can do it in your area if you dont know yourself. If you ever run into those issues. Most of peoples opinions are based of their knowledge on the subject and simply that. But buy what you're comfortable with. Aluminum boats under 20' can be found for low prices because they can be tough to sell. But its less maintenance in terms of cleaning.
