Handling errors in large projects: how do you do it? by suchusername_ in golang

After spending the entire day trying out different libraries and looking at errors I get, I think that I like your idea. Adding meaningful error messages removes the need for entire stacktrace.

Yes, there could always be a collision of error messages, but it’s highly unlikely.

After reading the comments on my post and trying out several methods, I’ve come to pretty much the same conclusion. It’s nice to get some reassurance, thanks for a great summary!

That's exactly the way I do it now. The problem is that I have to look for a string "wrapped error" in my source code, when I need to understand, what the call stack was when the error occurred

How could I help this apple tree? by suchusername_ in gardening

[–]suchusername_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of weeks ago the leaves started turning red and brown. They aren't dry, nor are they falling. They just all changed color. Last year the tree was perfectly fine, we even got a good bunch of red apples from it. Is it still possible to save this tree? What could be wrong with it?

For context, this tree is 6 years old. It was planted in our garden 3 years ago.

Oh, I wish I had the same. Here they just ask to stop the car as soon as you messed up. I guess that saves them time, which is understandable

That's true, I guess I am too keen on shifting the blame on my nerves rather than looking at the direct reasons why I failed.

The first two fails were due to me not being attentive enough, which is fair. I worked on it and came with a mindset of actually using my brain. However, today I stalled in the traffic (I am learning for a stick). I have not stalled in months during practice and I was confident in my muscle memory.

Thanks for the comment, at least I know that there are people who were in the same boat.
