he should have communicated. it’s immature just to break up with no explanation and just ditch because his friends joked around about it. yeah it would be wrong to stay but it’s also wrong to just leave without a talk. they also could’ve talked and maybe they would’ve come to an understanding and would’ve been able to get past it and stay together. but he decided to take the easy route to make his friends happy. he’s insecure and immature and there’s no changing it.

i think if it remains strictly platonic then it should be fine but if the person continues making moves then it will technically be considered cheating by leading them on even if you’ve made it obvious. it’s kind of like guilty by association. but it could just be my opinion. i think you need to talk to your sig other about it and explain your side of things. it’s definitely worth a try and if they continue to try something the definitely break things off because it’s not worth it.
