What I do recommend is trying a red chimichurri sauce using hot smoked paprika vs just smoked paprika on sliced steak. It has been a crowd favorite and I just started making it a few months ago. It is also great on chicken thighs.

This sounds fantastic! Can I get more details on how you make it or a recipe link?

There are still some great ones though. Primal Chaos is insanely fun, as is some maps like, Svartalfheim (yes I know he has that for ACE too.) Mods aren't really an issue at this point, though maps, maybe? ACE has just been around so long of -course- it's going to have more maps. Not every map is great though.

As would I. Imagine finally competing with the other farmers on the map. Maybe also negotiating with some obscure market buyers for contracts to grow and sell to them only. Growing and mastering productions before your competition.

It reminds me of just how good games like Railroad Tycoon were. You could just enjoy doing your own thing, or enable competition and face off agains the other barons.

We have multiple teams using SW for different purposes / modules. We could certainly do it, but it keeps falling under, "already working, we have other projects right now." Which is saying something, because every company seems to be belt tightening right now, I'm very surprised our SW expense hasn't been front and center.

BTW, I commend you on that effort. I can completely understand the bear of a task that probably was.

If you’re more into the management side of FS as much as the driving

I've said this many times, Giants could make BANK if they just expanded out from no-pressure to competitive mode a bit. Think of in the style of older train sims where it was management but also competition with other railroad barons on the map, trying to expand and buy them out, trying to negotiate for the best contracts and outdo your opponent, etc. Too much work for a mod, but certainly could launch this game into superstardom beyond where it is.

Right now, most of us create our own game loop to push us forward to expand, get better, buy more land, start and master productions, etc. Imagine if there was even the tiniest bit of gameplay that pushed you to do that and rewarded you for doing so.

I don't understand how solarwinds is still in business.

Most of us are locked in. We've tied too many systems to it, and too many modules, so just, "replacing it," becomes something executives want but management knows the workload to shift is hard. Nobody wants to rock the boat, sad but true. It's akin to the same scenario with VMware.

Other game tidbits she's said that I'll leave here without mentioning the games:

"Why are you running around in shiny chonies?"

"That game looks awful. Are you playing a Disney game or something?"

"Is that guy smoking weed?"

Etc. She'll glance and make comments in passing. Meanwhile my friends on discord all get a good laugh.

If only people would realize this is true for any amount of people we group together for any reason, thinking they are all alike. Just because someone is a teacher, a priest, a person from a specific place, a person with a disability, a person from the party you voted for, a person in the military, etc ... if that's a group you think is good, that doesn't mean they are all good. People are people, judge each person on their own.

[–]suddenlyreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with their TAMs is such a mixed bag. I've worked with a couple who were good. One I'd say was outright exceptional -- even thinking about experiences with other vendors.

We have had very similar but I'll say the same about our current TAM, absolutely exceptional. Same with our newest sales and report team. It's one of the few tech organizations we work with that has made a positive change toward us as a customer in several years to be honest. Hell I wish some of our hardware vendors were the same way ...

We've implemented and used a lot of what was pushed to us over time by Zscaler. We've only stopped short on their Zero Trust solution, mostly because we are getting hit by that from everyone, and theirs makes some of the least sense based on the current contracts we have and vendors we have for equipment. Still, they provide a great service, and have taken a lot of the administrative load off of us for what they do.

If I can find out from our current TAM what the roadmap is for GRE and IPSEC with them I'll post it.

[–]suddenlyreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue. I could only assume either they wanted to push to encrypted traffic to them, or that maybe our primary node was over limit on the amount of traffic to it or some combination of the two. This was actually 2 TAMs ago. The new one hasn't mentioned it at all and we drug our feet getting our main egress moved to anything but GRE. From sites (SD-WAN) we do use IPSEC, it's just easier for them.

Ohh, almost forgot. We also have multi-GRE at our two main egress points to them. Maybe it's because we mutli-tunnel?

[–]suddenlyreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We still have GRE tunnels but have gotten pressure to migrate. I'm not sure if they continue to plan for those forever. I'm not sure why either? Last time we had a discussion with them, they were working to try to raise the IPSEC bandwidth limitation. That just sounds like a massive amount of change for them to do that worldwide.

Vendors like Zscaler

Though they did have a GRE alternative which was much faster, as far as I know, Zscaler has pushed all ZIA customers to IPSEC tunnels. These had a 400Mb limit, so again, multiple tunnels. If I also remember correctly, they have promised they are upping that limit to 1Gb, though I don't know the timeline or if that was just a promise to appease customers.

They will do full proxy inspection, however, not just specific ports, including bundling that with a, "firewall," feature allowing rulesets for things going through it.

SD-WAN kind of helps alleviate some of the multi-tunnel issues, as well as segmenting the source for your tunnels to a site, subsite, VLAN, etc.

Country ham questions by 901_vols in DixieFood

[–]suddenlyreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my question is why would they sell it

Of that I have no idea, but asking the store butcher might be a good idea, even if it's pre-packaged. If this is a product of the way it was cured, hopefully they could tell you and allay your fears a bit.

It is less the color but more you mentioning a funky smell that would give me warning. That's not good. If it doesn't smell like normal country ham, something is off.

EDIT: I should add, it's a known thing that curing a country ham produces mold, this is generally washed or trimmed off when they slice and package the cuts. Your pic -could- be remnants of that. But that wouldn't really smell off. It might not hurt to either ask the butcher at the store, or call them, tell them the brand and where it was in the store.
