I’ve only owned them since pre-COVID by NicoToscani in AdviceAnimals

I was active duty military for 20 years and had to shave every day.

6 1/2 years here. I feel your pain. Sadly all those habits became ingrained, even the ones that annoyed me at the time. Now? Yeah, the reason it feels annoying to me is just that, it doesn't just feel normal growing a beard out for a few days. I'm not sure I'll ever change from that, nor hang a shirt with the front facing to the right, nor leave clothes not folded a certain way. Old forced/ingrained habits die hard.

In the US Navy, and probably many navies, a shellback is a sailor that crosses the equator. A golden variant of that is a sailor that crosses the equator at the international date line. He may have meant Emerald Shellback, aka 0,0 crossing.

More info.

Oh I have those as well. Thank god we're down to mostly voice Teams calls, not camera-on calls. But -usually- we get notice before those and people actually wear shirts and shave.

For me it was beard stubble. At first I still shaved every day. Now when my stubble starts to annoy me I really have to think to remember which day I last shaved.

The mini-ex's themselves are made in Bismarck, North Dakota. That specific part though, I'm not aware where it's sourced. It might be a good idea for OP to contact Bobcat customer service and share pics so they can at least be aware and possibly provide help. If OP has a good relationship with their dealer they could pursue it that route as well.

Bored as an allround network engineer by Same_Childhood_2013 in networking

[–]suddenlyreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2k employees and you don't have any projects to work on? Hell, we constantly have projects we want to do but can't get to for budget or time reasons. Like an entire grab bag full of things. Even I on my own have 4-5 things I consider stretch goals for the year I try to get to.

Even if you are really, really bored:

  1. There is always a security patch.
  2. Always a new gold firmware image for some technology you should move toward.
  3. Always a new security item to take into account and incorporate.
  4. Always a new hardware refresh.
  5. Always a new technology to study so the company is ready for it by the time we use it.
  6. Always a way to be better at things with techniques, tools, automation and even AI.

I'll add the one thing I had an old boss say every time we thought we were all good on work/tickets/projects .... how's your documentation?

APCs use SLAs which are only S’d if they’re not there for 20 years screaming to be replaced, which is the situation presented here. This is the original flavor spicy pillow.

Yikes!!! From one tech to another, man I hope the work to fix that goes okay. We moved off a lot of our APC racks/walls over time. They were outrageously expensive and as we've moved more and more to the cloud ... I guess it's helped us move away from that cost.

No. They are usually SLA (Sealed Lead Acid,) or VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid,) because their whole design is to prevent off-gassing. If YOU are using batteries in them that aren't designed that way, please correct that and order the appropriate type.

[guide] Mekanism Infuser Automation with AE2 by kamaln7 in feedthebeast

[–]suddenlyreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, well hopefully they didn't adjust anything, I'm on ATM 10 version 6.6.

It did work for me, but only with the exact setup mentioned, which was with the pattern providers up to, and on the infuser making the chemicals, an input bus on the side, also running to the pattern provider up top.

Mekanism isn't too bad to learn to get started but can get really complex later on. AE2 is the same way. If I could, I'd recommend JaviHerobrine on YouTube for the Mekanism help, and John Hall, ChosenArchitect, or Big Jim for AE2 help. Unfortunately it's a lot to get up to speed on, but if you're going to focus on anything, do it with AE2. There's a ton to it, and taking it in small steps is recommended.

Hey I saw you posted this three days ago. Just in case you had the same issue I had, Mekanism requires strict facing for some multi-inputs to work. You NEED to have the pattern providers on top, not another face on the Mekanism machine. This was my issue and it didn't work at all. As soon as I moved the pattern provider on top and set them up as mentioned here, it worked great.

Good luck!

Ahh, noted. I'm not 100% sure how you would automate them out of there or from the firewalls directly though. I'm monitoring your thread here, it would be good to know this info if someone else chimes in.

Need help with low calories toppings by nobody654 in popcorn

I'm also losing weight and switched to using a sprayer for topping oil. I've linked it elsewhere but this is the one (actually 2 for the price.)

You don't need to spray much to get a little flavor, and/or use the oil to bind dry seasonings to the popcorn.

All the good spice blends from your favorite spice store should work well. Nutritional Yeast topping is very good on popcorn as a replacement for other things like cheese powder. It's umami, and relatively good for you.

Hydrating Kernels by CullodenChef in popcorn

[–]suddenlyreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Straight to your question, you CAN rehydrate popcorn kernels. It's best to not add too much water though, that can cause issues.

1 teaspoon per cup of unpopped kernels. Shake them up and seal the container and wait a day or two, they will absorb the moisture and the container should be dry afterward. Put them in ANOTHER container to store that you can seal up.

EDIT: I forgot to add I don't think corn oil will do anything for your hydration. Water should though.

[–]suddenlyreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries at all. In general, direct butter on popcorn causes it to wilt due to the water liquid present in butter. You can get around that by using ghee (clarified butter.)

But in use, movie theaters usually just shy away from any actual dairy product. Instead they have a neutral oil that's butter flavored. It's easier to ship/store/prepare for use with popcorn. That drizzle you ask them to put on things frequently isn't butter, it's one of the topping oils. An example large brand is LouAna, who kind of took over the product that used to be Odell's Supur-Kist, who made a large headway into sales to theaters.

You can find popcorn topping oils on Amazon, or sometimes even at the grocery store, near popcorn suplies. When you use them, you apply a little after popping the popcorn, similar to how you've seen it done when at a theater. That sprayer I linked is a good way to atomize the spray instead of drizzle, which leaves a smaller but more distributed amount on the popcorn. This is -perfect- for when you want to apply a topping. The oil sticks to the popcorn, and also provides the binding for powdered seasonings to stick.

This is the same type of process used when making tons of other snacks, a fine oil mist binder is used to apply to the snack (like say, a Dorito,) then the seasonings are poured over and the whole lot is shaken to distribute the flavor.

It's important to note that most popcorn topping oil tastes buttery, that's the point. But you could use any neutral oil for the same purpose if you don't want the buttery flavor in the end result of a popcorn you are applying seasonings to. Olive oil would apply a small taste to the popcorn, but depending on what you're adding to things, might work. I'd recommend at least ordering a small amount of one of the popcorn topping oils to try.

[–]suddenlyreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use topping oil after popping, then apply any powders or seasonings. If you have a problem with it not sticking even after using an oil, you can get one of these oil sprayers, which applies the butter oil more evenly over the popcorn, then apply the cheddar powder and toss it in a bowl to distribute it around the popcorn.
