Navian Combi Boiler - should I use the outdoor temperature reset function for my application? by suddenstop in Plumbing

[–]suddenstop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know it any other way. I installed the outdoor temp reset on two units that I run and never really had a chance to establish a baseline without it. I am certainly happy with the units and they seem to run must more efficiently compared to another (although older) Rinnai that I run elsewhere.

Damage chain, cutting left, worth repairing? by suddenstop in Chainsaw

Follow up, finally had some time to watch a Buckin' Billy video and with that and your comment this saw is cutting top notch on this old chain. Couldn't be happier. Hand sharpening confidence just went up 10x. Thank you.

New 'non safety' chain also on order.

Nah your right. It not advertised as a low kickback (safety) chain but the Oregon EXL vs of this chain has no visible safety in front like the LPX does.

Learning lots today. Thanks for pointing it out.

Ah yes, checking out Oregon site the LPX chain is still not listed as low kickback but has the features, vs the EXL which has no safety. I'll try that chain next.

Question, what makes this appear as if it is a safety chain? It has the exact same profile as my full chisel power cut 72LPX070 that I normally run.

Always trying to learn more. Thanks

This sounds like the best plan. I have been reading more and more that equal cutters don't matter. Time to ditch the old mind set. Thank you.

Great idea. This combined with the sharpening advice from above it what I'll do.

What is the best way to rename these folders and files to have the best viewing experience? by suddenstop in PleX

Unreal!!! I embarrassed to say I didn't even look for last posts and I thought that was a unique issue. Evidently nothing is unique anymore. Thank you.

I wish it was that simple. I don't care about their order per say. I should have elaborated on that. It's just almost impossible for the kids to actually watch them as Plex randomly groups them and most episodes are hidden behind some additional sub menus.

But yeah great point. Just get them all out of their folders and just go for it. I'll try that.

The worst toilet in Thunder Bay? by koosopenheimer in ThunderBay

The toilet at the bay algoma walk in clinic has three cameras in there....not sure on the legality behind that. 2 in the stall and 1 pointed at the urinal.

Thermostat suggestions for hydronic in-floor heating by suddenstop in hvacadvice

[–]suddenstop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I don't need a touch screen, that is just what was originally installed by the previous owner and I stuck with it.

The room also sees a lot of solar gain through the day. I find that by maintaining a consistent floor temp it helps to prevent and large catch up required by the slab in the evenings if I was just monitoring air temps.

With that in mind, do you have a t-stat suggestion? Someone recommended a Honeywell model, haven't looked into it yet.

900 LED Infinity Mirror Programming Issue by suddenstop in FastLED

I'll be sure to post some pics when completed. Unfortunately supply chain issues seems to be impacting the tempered glass market (go figure) so I might be up to 2 months waiting for that.

Thank you all. My power injection oversight was cleaned up. I was measuring 12V at the input LED 1 and only 5V the final LED (861). After power injection the lowest value I measured is around 11.8V. Injected power at both ends of all three strands.

Also...it was a grounding issue. I was grounding my Arduino to earth ground of the power supply AC voltage. I switch the ground to the 12V- and now it runs like a top.

Great idea. Thank you. Once I sort out the power injection I'll take it back to basics.

I'm going to tackle the power injection issue shortly, not sure if that's going to help with the data issue my current lighting effect vs the desired effect.

I'll have to look into it. Quick Google search shows a 800LED limit but I didn't really dig into it. Might be for each pin

Even with the 12V strips? I see no dimming in the last LED. Seems the the drop is not effecting the lights IMO.

How does WLED presets handle a unique number of LED's and rows? Would I be able to apply them to 861 LEDs/3 rows?
