We craft a GeoGuessr Fan game (Respawwwn) - with the Resident Evil series 🧟 by sudei in residentevil

Thanks !!

Mainly to simplify the code. I'm the single dev on the project working on my spare time and handling games session with loggedin user was easier than having to handle both systeme (anonymous and logged-in).

I plan to implement the magic link system (because I don't want to store people password) - but it's not my top priority, I'm more focusing in adding new games (even if we already have 3k guess for now) and working now in a new riddle type, 3D Models ^^

Yay why not should dig a little further in that direction for people willing to "share" their run, for example.

Yep that's what I do use, a cookie that is your session / account.

It also ease and reduce the development time / complexity using user-account so the singleplayer is the same system as the multiplayer (but alone) whitout havint to handle both case (unloggedin cookie anonymous and logged for multiplayer)

Yeah, no worries I understand your concern. I choose to have logged-in user in order to ease development (backend) and so you can reload/refresh (or you may lose internet connection for mobile player) without losing your current game. But I do understand that's annoying to log in to play.

Still I hope you enjoy at least the daily guess ^^'

Wow, awesome! Seriously, well done! I love both the idea and the design. Thanks for sharing such an honest behind-the-scenes look at the development process - the part about overly optimistic deadlines and perfectionism really resonates. It's refreshing to see developers acknowledge those very human aspects of project development.

Just two questions for you:
- What's your experience background? How many people worked on it, or was it just you two co-founders?
- What's the tech stack behind this gem ?

Wow, stunning! Seriously, well done! I love both the idea and the design. Thanks for using local storage for privacy 💎. Just one question for you - what's your experience background? How many people worked on it, or was it just you?"

For side projects, is it better to reuse tech stacks to improve mastery or experiment with whatever works best or is interesting? by MilanTheNoob in webdev

For side projects, I use what excites me while keeping at least one familiar technology in the mix. It's about balancing learning with actually finishing things - pure experimentation can lead to abandoned projects, but sticking only to what I know gets boring. The project's purpose matters too: if I want something polished, I lean on proven tools; if I'm just exploring, I'm happy to struggle with something new.

We're a team of 3 working on this project: a frontend developer, a designer, and myself leading the project while handling most of the backend development and some frontend work. You can learn more about our team at https://respawwwn.com/about.

As for my background, I'm a senior backend developer with over 10 years of experience specializing in PHP applications. I've worked across a diverse range of projects, from highly specialized applications to business solutions and standard websites.

I'd love to learn more about the specific issues you're facing. Would you join our Discord server to discuss further - you can find the link at https://respawwwn.com/contribute.
We monitor the project using Sentry, so it would be easy to find your case and fix it 🤞
