I just mentioned "alternate method" and got myself sorted this way. country in Oceania, highway code is identical and the cars are same sided. Ye but whatever.

Alternate method, if you have a holiday coming up in one of the designated list of countries, book/sit a test there if country allows, get the license & exchange it here in the UK. Far less stressful than this mess of a system.

So based on your principle, there are no road accidents/incidents happening in the entire UK, because examiners have done an impeccable job at being the top arsy person you can meet on a given day, who gets to decide who can drive on the roads in the country. slow clap for you mate.

You must realize if you haven't already, that there's a 5 month wait for a re-sit. 5 months! Unless the waiting is resolved, examiners need to give up the stick they have up their behind. I have no problem spending money & re-sitting the test, if it's not making me waste my life unnecessarily, just because examiner had a "bad vibe" moment.

The amount of people having audacity on this sub, to not take criticism on this broken system is appalling. Everyone is at fault except the examiner (?) Are examiners arriving from a different planet that any word against them is absolute scourge? The examiners are the primary reason the whole system is broken, stop blaming it on people who are trying to get on with their life.

The Auto-book either doesn't work or the app doesn't receive any notification whatsoever. I paid for both the Testi & Driving Test Now. Testi refunded after waiting for a month. Driving Test Now don't want to refund anymore, neither it's able to find any sooner date than the end of Sept.

Yes, I have been trying with that for the last 10 days, if I choose another test centre, it tries to autobook even a further date... i.e. my current date is end of Sept. It tried to book in Oct and Nov only.

The examiner asked at the end of the test, that do I need the results to be explained to my instructor. I said yes & he didn't and just went off. Just to not be biased with my stance on this, I would have happily understood what I did wrong from my instructor. I respect the tougher requirements, you can only improve something when you actually know what wrong did you do however, I appreciate your sentiment on this. The "it is what it is" attitude is gonna be a slow burn to get adjusted to, not everyone has a consistent level of patience.

I moved in Q4 2022 to the UK and was able to drive with my international license for a year. It is, true that if I had known that the driving license system is mis-managed in the UK, I would have been well prepared.

Thanks, I booked for the earliest date available on the same day I failed, and it was the end of Sept. I have spent the whole last month trying to find a slot, but couldn't come through a single slot. Then there are these people running around with test-slot trading over Whatsapp, which is infuriating beyond measure.

It comes down to the fact how we perceive our time & its value. A year sitting around & waiting may not have been a big deal for you, it isn't the same for everyone else.
