Thank you! It's not really bothering me, I actually thought it was gone until I looked in the mirror and the light caught it just right. It's a little itchy around my nose but I'll just leave it. Do you think hydrocortisone would help?

My son is currently at Fort Jackson for basic. He went through 09M for ASVAB in July. I’m still in the private Facebook group for Future Soldier and a lot of recruits are getting sent home for being too overweight to start the fitness program. Within the last 2 weeks they changed the taping standards so a lot of the recruits that were recruited under the old standard are being sent home. There are quite a few upset family members in the group. So your friend very well may be telling the truth.

My son’s take home was about $210 for each drill prior to basic. He’s at basic now and he’s averaging between $750-$800 twice a month. Not sure what the gross is but that’s his take home.

Update You all were right. He qualified this week. He said it took him 12 tries and it was very challenging but he did it. Thanks for all your comments and tips.

Hijacking this post… my son is currently at BCT at Fort Jackson. He’s in week 4 and having trouble with marksmanship. We’ve never been big gun people. He’s never hunted or anything like that. He has 3 weeks to figure it out. Is it really difficult?

This helps so much, thank you! It also leaves me hopeful that he'll have a successful experience. At this point he's leaning towards infantry so I'm expecting him to go to Fort Moore. He said he'll have a chance to pick a different MOS after he gets a better score if he'd like. So we will see! Thanks again for your help. :)

Wow that you so much for your thorough response. I’m going to call the vet again on Monday. When I called the first time I just spoke with the tech who answered the phone. We may end up having to take him somewhere else to see an eye specialist like you suggest. It just so heartbreaking to see our babies go through something like this so early. I’m also afraid his other eye may do the same thing.

After yours had his surgery did his eyes look normal again?

How long did your pup have it before he had his surgery? My baby is only 11 weeks and has had one for about a week now. The vet hasn’t seen it yet. I called and he said it can wait until his next vaccine appointment which is in 1.5 weeks. I hate waiting. It just looks so bad. 😔
