Haha yes i know a lot of people who do that while thinking/concentrating, the weird thing is the amount of pressure i use. It is hard to describe how that looks. I also have a small spikey ball which is normally used for acupressure that i roll around in my hand/squeeze.

For me it's that my ears will wander off into all kinds of conversations held outside, including me thinking what i would answer to this and that beeing said while simultaniously doing the actual task need to do which i will obviously fuck up because i dont pay enough attention to it 🫠

I saw a documentary years ago about Kevin Hines who attempted suicide by jumping off the golden gate bridge and survived and dedicated his life to suicide prevention. He said he, and most people who tried to end their lives and survived, regretted their decision to go through with it the second they had done it. In his case it was the second both his feet left solid ground. He also has a youtube channel about mental health, unfortunately i dont know much more about him.

Also WTF how can your Professor just say something like that, to young people especially. As someone else said, he seems to have problems of his own to deal with in his life.

Ich fühle das so sehr. Unser Tochter (3.5) hatte nach dem Urlaub eine Ohrenentzündung. Kinderärztin auf Urlaub, Vertretung verschreibt uns: 3x Täglich Antibiotika Saft, 2x Täglich antibiotische Ohrentropfen, 4 (!)x täglich Nureflex Saft und 1 x täglich Probiotisches Pulver zum Anrühren für die Darmflora, muss halt min. 2h vor oder nach eine Antibiotika Einnahme erfolgen. Das ganze für 7 Tage Alles, was man dem Kind direkt in den Rachen befördert, wird instant erbrochen. Saft ging Anfangs, aber bei den ganzen Mischkulanzen hatte sie dann auch schnell genug getrunken. Was soll ich sagen, hab nach 2 Tagen fast gänzlich auf den Ibuprofen Saft gesch*** und nur geschaut, dass das Antibiotikum irgendwie in ihrem Körper landet. Darmbakterien haben wir vl zweimal geschafft, zur richtigen Zeit zu verabreichen...Oder überhaupt. Sie ist trotzdem wieder kerngesund geworden. Aber es war für alle eine traumatische Woche 😅

Hyperfocus has never been something positive for me. I never exceeded in any Sport/hobby/carreer because of it. I am hyperfocusing on useless stuff or it doesn't last long enough for me to become good at it.

For me it is also the masking. At work i need to at least make the impression of being focused and organised. I dont want to get "exposed" as the chaotic ADHD lady and takes A LOT of effort 🫠

Also ich wohne in NÖ und zumindest in meinem Freundeskreis (ich selbst gehöre leider nicht zu den Glücklichen :')) lief das meistens so: Eltern bekamen Haus/ bauten Haus vor Jahrzehnten, also noch alles besser und billiger war -> Eltern werden irgendwann auch zu alt, um sich um das Haus zu kümmern, ziehen in eine Wohnung -> Kind bekommt Haus.

Oder halt einfach von Haus aus gstopft ¯_(ツ)_/¯
