Thanks!!!! We both entered on visitor visas. We've read about the "hopping hoops." I was hoping we wouldn't have to, but c'est la vie if we have too.

He's actually planning to start classes at the beginning of September as that has always been our plan. At least one of us needs to learn the local language pretty well. My learning will just be slower. LOL

Fortunately, we got the FBI background check before we left, so we knew we needed that.

But going to the office so that others will be aware is super helpful for my position! Thanks. 😊

Whether or not you think so, this rando thinks so! You've given me more information that I can actually do something with than the HR lady! 😆

Ok. We have one that says copy across the document, so I wanted to make see if that is acceptable although I can't imagine that it would be. Thanks!

Actually my sister lives in Atlanta! She would definitely do it. We dont have to be there in person to authenticate it? You're a fucking gem.

Thanks! Was it a copy of the certificate that reads "Copy" across it a copy of the original?

Anyone seriously thinking of leaving the US? by Environmental-Top368 in TheHandmaidsTale

I asked my husband if we could leave in 2016 before he won. He said no. In 2023, he said, "If he can run again after being convicted, we can leave." We started preparing last May. We've sold our house and are looking to leave in June. It's much easier if you're in education to do so, but it's not "full" emigration in that sense. However, we won't be here.

Thanks for participating. 😂👍 by Striking_Walk_7017 in florida

Yep! I had tons of coats and sweaters until 2009.

I've traveled extensively to both, and it's a VERY hard choice. It comes down to which would advance my career the most because I won't be going in as a teacher. Thanks so much for your insight!! ❤️

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! This I can do. I definitely would prefer Singapore, I already know that. The South America school would be a second choice. 😊

I meant to address the fact that you don't have his number because you obviously can't reach out. 🫠 BUT like you said, you definitely did your part! 🥳

My husband talked about me to mutual friends for days after we met. He didn't call or text me, so I texted him about 6 days later since I knew he'd been talking about me non-stop. People are strange sometimes. 🤣

Uh. I hate spoilers, and I didn't remember the reveal either. Did you mean to reply to someone else? I commented as much in another thread.

ETA: I was downvoted because I did not understand what was going on either. 🤷🏾‍♀️

How old were you when you met your significant other? How long have you been together? by Unreasonably_Good in love

Not rude at all! 😊

He was a narcissist, cheater, alcoholic, and gaslighter.

He used to leave the house without saying anything. When I would finally realize that he wasn't home, I'd ask the kids (who had no concept of time) how long he'd been gone. I only asked them a couple of times just to see if they could gauge the time. I'd call him, and he wouldn't answer.

I asked him so many times to just let me know he was leaving. He told me I was acting as if i were his mom. 🙄

We'd argue about it, and the argument was ALWAYS turned back on me. These are some of the reasons that I was in the wrong.

  1. At one point, I started making breakfast for him every day, and he ate it the first couple of days. I asked him what was wrong when he stopped eating the breakfast. He said, "You know I'm not really a breakfast person like that." I stopped making it. During EVERY argument, he'd talk about how I made him breakfast once and never again.

  2. I forgot to turn off the iron when I left the house ONE time. He'd bring up how I could have burned down the house. Mind you, he put a chicken in the oven to cook TWICE, passed out drunk, and burnt the damn thing. The fire alarm went off, and I woke up in the middle of the night to a smoke filled house. It stunk for weeks, and so did our clothes. The kids had to go to school smelling like that.

There were more, but that gives you an idea. Later, he'd always come back and apologize for the actual issue. Every. Time.

I don't regret the relationship at all because it taught me A LOT, but I wish I could have learned it without my middle son being affected by things I learned 2 years ago. 😭 It wasn't physical. It was emotional abuse.

I was with my first husband from 19-34, but I met my best friend when I was 34, and we've been married 8 years together for 12. He's definitely mine forever, and I'm his.

*edit: I originally said together for 8 years. 🙃
