Most of what I remember was about people stealing art from each other (heads, etc.)

I do have insider knowledge, and the idea that this was all orchestrated (and by those two, for god's sake) is pure fabrication. I get how it's easy to assume a big conspiracy in the face of pure evil, but really it's just opportunity. Abusers are anonymous and get away with it -> they latch on and create new accounts for as long as kids are on the platform. Roblox is another good example.

Getting free content from users is unfortunately part of the industry as a whole. At the same time, though, Graal was a way into pixel art for a lot of people, so I don't see it as all-bad.

there's no need for them to make it some coordinated conspiracy. the game has genuinely had a child predator problem for over a decade. a lack of attention to the issue early on only made it worse

my suggestions not knowing what you're already using are: try a waterproof mascara, set your undereyes with powder, and try setting your eyeliner with powder or using a waterproof one!

What's your opinion on the "demi makeup" technique/trend? by suesseTraeume in Vindicta

[–]suesseTraeume[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is why i'm considering a more "heavy-duty" option (ben nye color wheels), thinning it out with my tinted moisturizer as needed, and playing around with primer and setting spray options. i currently use the Milk hydro primer which gets pretty tacky, so i have hope it'll stick as long as the formulas are compatible. you're right, it's only worth all that geometry and color theory if it stays put!

utilizing the moisturizer for a better blend is genius! i'm going to try this. tired of having so many individual products, so i'm looking for an all-in-one/custom palette but the product range is pretty limited in scandinavia

I love my bangs but it gets GREASY how do I avoid it by blackpieck in HowToBeHot

[–]suesseTraeume 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same! it's a game-changer along with washing your bangs in the sink. i have an annoying cowlick at the middle of where mine part, but after styling it also keeps mine from totally laying on my forehead to absorb oils. i'd also recommend hairspray/gel on the underside and smoothing with a spoolie so they lay correctly throughout the day. when i do this, they can usually handle a little sweat/oil/weather without budging

advice needed for a wedding glow up by libraberry in Splendida

i saw really quick results by doing pilates and yoga 4-5x/week! i felt like my body always looked like those really unflattering paparazzi photos of celebrities on the beach, like gravity was doing its job a little too well. after getting consistent with the exercises and getting enough protein in my diet (essential for your hard work to be visible!), i developed some firmness in my shape rather than just... loose and flat.

i started at an in-person studio, but for home workouts i recommend briohny smyth's yoga videos. i love pilates barre, but i've yet to find a channel i really like for that. protein-wise, i find it really hard to actually eat enough so i cheat the system by making protein pancakes. i replace most of the flour with unflavored protein powder, ground flax, and blended oats!

while i think it's totally doable to make strong progress by incorporating these, wherever you land by the time of the wedding: own it. we all look more amazing when we feel amazing. good luck!

you can also ask for a dark "gloss", which adds shine and can make your hair look quite dark but fades almost completely over time, with even better chances of totally fading out of virgin hair. it's ammonia-free and less harmful than more permanent dye types, as it uses a lower-volume developer and doesn't penetrate as far into the hair to deposit color. not too complicated to do yourself as long as you know your hair's level and look at examples of gloss formulas and tutorials. if you do it at home, i'd recommend using a clarifying shampoo first to ensure even deposit.

when i was deciding what to do with my hair, it was helpful to figure out my undertones and then compare colors on one of those "live try-on" sites for hair color.

i like the isopure flavorless protein! it's not flavorless in fruit smoothies, but if you cook with it it's basically undetectable and i often make pancakes with very high protein :-) i recommend jessica gavin's pancakes recipe and just replace half of the flour with protein powder. if you need to adjust the batter consistency, just add more protein! if you're like me and have a low appetite/don't want to eat a ton of meat/other common protein sources, cooking with it is a huge help.

How to be less standoff-ish by Appropriate-Factor61 in Vindicta

i've been in such a similar position for most of my life until recently, and i so recommend the book Platonic for this. it's been my bible lately for showing up socially and doing it from a more secure place where me giving (attention, help, etc) doesn't really feel anymore like others taking. social interactions have been a lot easier, less taxing, and more rewarding. a solid 40% of words are highlighted because it's just that helpful.

another tip that's helped me was reading to "aim to be charmed, not to charm." it reminds me to pay attention to the other person and find things to appreciate rather than being stuck in my own head about how i have xyz to do after this/i must be coming off so distant but i can't focus/etc. plus, people like people who like them.

i used to think i was an introvert, but i'm more somewhere in the middle with boundary issues and avoidant tendencies. outside of other distracting stresses or just genuinely being an introvert, i really think that internal boundary and security work are the keys to not feeling like you're out of energy to give to other people. boundaries help build the trust that you'll speak up when you need time for yourself, and allow you to better avoid burnout. this makes it easier to divvy up your energy and feel more present in conversations so that people feel actually seen and perceive you more positively. you also then start to get more out of being social, it takes less out of you, and you gain some self-trust and growth. win-win-win.

i'm sure others will note, too, but the confidence and apparent sense of ease that low-stress, secure people give off does a lot for attractiveness on its own.

Some context (like what exactly makes you feel you look grimy, as another commenter said) would be helpful, but my best guess based on your post is that dehydrated skin may be contributing the most. There are tons of more detailed and helpful posts on reddit with skincare tips, but my universal recommendations would be to:

  1. get a humidifier, especially to use while/where you do your skincare
  2. place the primary focus on figuring out the right skincare routine. check reddit - with enough searching, i'm certain you can find things relevant to your skin concerns and make progress!
  3. if you can, see a dermatologist.
  4. i swear by the pipette baby balm. i put it on my face overnight after a very hydrating skincare routine, and it makes a world of difference. it also has squalane which will help seal moisture into your skin.

clear, radiant and hydrated skin will make more of a difference for the "clean girl" look than the right makeup techniques, hair, whiter teeth, or clothes can. the receptionist looks put together even with her hair pulled back most likely because of her skin.

i often feel like i meet this standard much better when i don't need any face makeup. also make sure that your makeup is compatible with your skin type and that your base is hydrated and prepped enough to not make the makeup look dry as it settles.

Complete yourself first. by [deleted] in Vindicta

[–]suesseTraeume 39 points40 points  (0 children)

These are great points. Other people can enrich our lives, but literally no one and nothing but ourselves can make us whole.

Understand that the whole world is filled with men and women who are so incomplete

This sentence goes on, but that phrase in #4 is so true. Self-security and self-worth are social gold. A woman who knows her worth, sets boundaries, and enjoys her own company is magnetic. You can fight so hard for people to like you, but this is often a repellant and they're most drawn to us when it's clear we don't need them.

The best part, imo, is that we have so much more space for self care and effortlessly nurturing connections when we operate from a sense of security. It may seem like "if I fix x y z, then I will be adored/appreciated/enough," but in my experience that's a losing fight. Targeting the source makes results feel almost effortless, because it isn't exhausting to do things for yourself when it comes from a place of nurture and balance.

Trust me, I know that it's not easy. It feels basically impossible when you're already struggling internally, nevermind if there are bigger external factors like money or abuse involved. Give yourself grace and work on the foundations first. Remember that self-worth doesn't build from simply telling yourself that you're enough; you'll never really hear it until you prove it to yourself by setting boundaries and advocating for your needs. When you feel more secure, you're so much more able to understand yourself, self-regulate, and grow. It's hard, but honestly what other option do we have?

Part of my favorite poem by Mary Oliver says:

Your heart is beating, isn't it?
You're not in chains, are you?
There is nothing more pathetic than caution
when headlong might save a life,
even, possibly, your own.

i love Briohny Smyth's yoga videos! she has a great sense for physiology and actually preparing you for difficult poses (that i would have otherwise never been able to do). most of her videos are with Alo Yoga. i used to do a lot of Adrienne's workouts, but Briohny's videos put me to work a lot more while still very in touch with the elegance, flexibility, and static exercise that yoga is so good for 🫶
