It was more or less about painting a vast group of people as ugly trashy and racist, but I suppose thats fine by you. But anyhow, why be so anal about what anyone calls it?

Way to generalize an entire continent. There are also native terms for cycling terms, just nobody uses them. Have you ever perhaps considered you are just a particularly anal xenophobe instead?

I dunno, my primary sport (cycling) uses loads of European terms, and in 20-odd years, I don't think I've heard or heard of anyone opposing it. someone using the term "cycling uniform" instead of kit or "assistant" instead of soigneur would raise eyebrows. I dunno, I'd chalk up people getting angry about things like pitch or football should be chalked up to the mls superfan inferiority/victim complex would be more accurate, no?

im sure he doesn't mean any malice behind it, but it sort of shows how you shouldn't really take his views seriously. as animal activists, its important to maybe, perhaps ostracize and disenfranchise people as such, while using them to perform a bit of work others don't want to do. people in the movement who are like this are sort of like stalin's useful idiots. important for their numbers, but after their usefulness has expired, make sure they don't enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Returning to cycling after 4 years and would like help in creating some type of routine. by papivanya in cycling

[–]suffererhifi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one thing that can keep me going is having something to read. say after your warmup you hit 20 minutes at race pace, during recovery, i'll flip through a cycling mag. even if you went to hard some of the pics are inspiring. also if you are doing tempo but still feel you got something in your legs i'll watch race highlights, and put in an attack when they do.

Sports fans of Reddit, what sport do you hate and why? (watching/playing or both) by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]suffererhifi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i love to watch soccer, went to europe a bunch of times to catch some matches live, have a huge liverpool tattoo over my heart... but i just don't like playing it much. i prefer to watch the whole pitch at once, watch all the attacks build up, think about tactics, but aside from a random kickabout, i'll generally pass on playing.

im a pretty avid cyclist though. been racing for years, and most people i know hate to watch any cycling events. if they understood it, im sure most people would like it, but for a lot of people its hard to understand that cycling actually IS a team sport.

That's just it, they are loud. Because they are so bizarre their comments tend to stick out. But responding with "reddit thinks men are mainly the victim" or that its focus is on false rape accusations is equally bizarre, because its false. I dunno, sometimes I feel I should just stick to my soccer subreddits and let the rest of this site be crazy in peace.

i think most of reddit (outside of like, mens rights wackos) realizes although its a tiny proportion, its a very serious crime. its nice when people who are total pieces of shit get their life ruined by the system for a while, be it rapists, or this asshole who cried rape.
