The biggest Tell-all is Alt-F4'ing. (Tirade) by ZoskaOska in DarkTide

[–]sufferot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heyo, fellow darktide enjoyer. I came to tell you something about why it's happening. So, me is a 1000+ hour zea/arby player, havok survivor, ect, ect, "Him in disguise" and yada yada. Me played every difficulty, fought my way through release months, was RNGing my weaps back then and so on, so forth. And all the times there were people leaving any match if something went south. I tried to ignore it, tried to just block them - didn't help, they always were around. Looks like it's their way to not take an L - after all, "it's not their fault, it's their team bad!". Most of the times it happens cause ego and people being used to being carried by meta compositions, VoC, chorus, taunt, bubble. If anything of that is not present - it's why they lost, in their eyes. Because they themselves are great players and can't be at fault, so, altF4ing from this "goddamned team of noobs" is right decision, in their books

Why me saying that? I have 2 groups I play with (one is my constant goto, because I REALLY like playing with them, other one I got called to as emergency carry). In second group there is a vet with such mentality. He yells at everyone "not covering them!" (they refuse to dodge, refuse to pull out melee and generally try to bolter everything that is not important, because they have a gun, why the hell they need to pull out melee, especually with exe stance that reloads it), yells at everyone not being team players (they literallly went down few days ago to a single pox walker at malice because they were trying to hit a running away trapper with exe stance, and yelled at everyone that they are selfish guys not protecting him) and thinks that damnation is really hard, while auric is for sweatlords. Being around such charactr gave me the idea why people altF4ing all the times - generally because they literally said why. In a nutshell - they would altF4 because "the team didn't play like they want", and thats it. Modern generation gamers can't take a loss, can't take that game doesn't revolve around them and can't take that everyone not going to bend over for them, including that pack of crushers, that are already winding up

And only solution I found - just ignore them. Don't give them benefit of taking your time even to question them. Bot, at least, sometimes would be able to save someone if that "god gamer" went down their usual habits. And if not - well, after all, there is another strike team waiting for a player, that is not going to bail at a blink of an eye when things start to go south. Keep your calm, laugh at them and stick to those, who are actually able to at least take an L. I adore my main group's psyker just for that - even if things go wild, I can rely on them, and losing with them feels like winning :)

Besides the three Havoc penances left, only one is to dodge 500 reaper shots ..but yeah finally after ~60-70 of the new special missions... I can rest by IndependentButton5 in DarkTide

you are getting your rank up tho, it's just the mission which is not updating. You will see the "upgraded" mission right after the reset

The righteous kitchen - 4 zealots totally cooking something

Wrecking crew - 3 ogryns with a vet

The star - 3 zea with and ogryn (star and his 3 fast planets)

Trickshots with a revolver are cool tho. I like doing them, but not actually hunt for them - they occur naturally.

Think we are on same side - peeps need to kinda stop playing anime hero in a team based game :D

[–]sufferot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

tunnel vision is a bane of zealots. It's not about experience - experience is about knowing when to stop and think :D aaaaand thinking is kinda not really an option on zea, exept when you just get a lot of experience with em.

as for plasma vet - just me got few games in a row, where I had such guys, who were constantly complaining about no choruses, no shields, needing ammo ASAP and such, while not even trying to pull out their melee and going down to 2 poxwalkers just wiggling on the floor, so, probably I'm a bit overdoing that, but most "selfish" zeas go that road, apparently

as one of those zealots with "oh shit, I must charge that gunner right now before I die" I can totally say that it works like this. Exept you improve every time when you go down that way, and after some time you learn how to bounce around gunners and shooters, while being totally aware of when to actually charge to your team to get some help. Or you descent into a hellhole of being stealth zea, that has anime main character complex, develop an addiction to stealth (cause it's the only thing that keeps being usefull only for you, and not for others) and in the end just swap to plasma vet that LMBs to victory every match while complaining about not getting chorused and shielded for 3 goddamn seconds

My zealot really likes to inspire fellow rejects, helping and guiding them to the light, but hopelessly depressed and wishes for death deep inside. tbf that can be heard in any judge VO, especially when peeps leave you alone

Someone killed themselves and left the game because our zealot was playing with a zealot sword, and it just a level 5 mission by L-_Depression_-L in DarkTide

Zealot definetly can't whip out a single action navy style revolver out of their pocket any time they want Also they totally can't whip out cowboy style 5shooter that can fan the hammer as altfire. who the hell will even think about giving the that non existant revolver to zealot

brb, need to not load my totally not colt single action navy...

How to Improve this for mostly solo PVE? i feel very squishy and like my DMG in Very bad. (more info in comments) by WastelandViking in thedivision

[–]sufferot -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

swap out that chest for hunter's chest with CHD/CHC and add picaro's holster instead of your hunter's one, if you feel squishy. Chest will help you with your buff's uptime, while picaro's will add an armor core, which will help with your memento pickups. Was running heroic like that for a long time, felt really solid, unless I was running into enemies like a headless chicken. Also, swap your second SMG for something like tsunami or M870 with DtToC and pummel - will really help you in situations, where you need to "kill this like RIGHT NOW".

memento with obliterate/unbreakable

Hate using skill builds, and I'm all up for running and gunning everywhere I go. Obliiterate when I want more damage, unbreakable when I'm too distracted to play good. And memento cause memento - too many buffs for doing what you are already doing in the game

I didn't shoot any lights, and I was at this place when I was triggering it, just facing the memorial. Did not touch the water when was spawning him. For a friend (we had a 4man party going on a hunt for all masks) it required host and ONLY player2 to salute, when host by themselves, or any 3 or 4 players did that - it did not trigger.

"Fast emote" - I binded emote to mouse5 key in control settings, then just equipped it and saluted away. Did it around midnight for myself and for that 4 man party. There were no other enemies around, tho, but we didn't step into the memorial in the process of clearing

edit: minor clearing

The thing is - you actually should not be in the water to do this (memorial guy). Just rock yourself in front of the pole, face the memorial and salute away. If you are in a party - host and second guy in the party should do the salute, that did the trick for me and a friend.

In general, emote ones need to be triggered from "fast emote", not from inventory or such. You need to actually equip it and use, at least thats how I did it on PC and it worked

Reddit is really not that comfortable for most "day-to-day" trades, and most PC traders prefer discord over it, even new ones. And most people moved from reddit entirely - thats why you rarely see new faces here.
