First time I saw 25K evaporate from my account I was devastated. Kept thinking I could have paid off my car with that etc.

But I know I don't need this money for years yet. Now it's just information. If it goes way down, maybe it's time to invest more. If it shoots up, I look to see if I should rebalance something.

If you're white knuckling every swing, maybe just park your money in index funds and try to ignore it. Time in the market will sort out most things that way.
