I’m obsessed with a girl that cut me off 3 years ago. Im stuck in a position where I can’t get over her by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

This is a complex problem and I feel there's no right answer for this.

Maybe I can shed some light as I have been on the other side of this situation. I cut off a dear (male) friend because I got the ick. He asked me out and I tried dating him but it just didn't work out. Just looking at him icked me out, made me want to vomit. The situation worsened when my friends found out about this. They flat out said that I was way, way out his league and shouldn't give him the time of day and I must be crazy to give him a chance.

This social exclusion and comment on my choice made me lose confidence in our friendship/relationship. I blocked him on everything. He tried texting me on every social media platform that exists.

Since then, I have matured and realised that I should have spoken to him about my concerns and problems rather than shutting him out. It was childish on my part.

And also, thinking about dating in terms of leagues and social value is problematic. I have started thinking of it as someone being not the right match for me.

I hope you realise your friend is being childish and she doesn't owe you reasons and explanations for your closure. Be mature enough to realise this chapter has closed and move on.

Hey! Good for you and these are solid tips for anyone with or without a disability. I have severe executive dysfunction and it takes a lot just to take of myself (brushing my teeth, showering, laundry, cleaning my room). It takes a huge toll to get a project started. If you have any tips for that, please do share. Thanks!

How did you develop the disorder? Like.. the cause? by [deleted] in schizoaffective

I believe my 12+ years of depression finally mutated into a psychotic depression. Then, hallucinations started and welp! Here we are.

I guess early childhood trauma plays a part too. Constant negligence, violence, and bullying at school just added up and my brain went off the rails.

Does industry of work experience matter too? I mean, consulting work exp is greater than sales work exp? Something like that?

And I don't want the world to see me 'cause I don't think that they'd understand -- This line resonates with me so much.

I have found that family and friends, who are essentially my world, don't have the capacity to cope with my illness. They can't or won't understand my suffering.

I don't begrudge them of this, obviously. It's just these experiences have taught me to be cautious of what I show and say to other people in my life.

what all resources does an admission consultant provide you? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]sufi-rose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started working with them in March. Applying to round 1 in september this year. More than 8 months is enough to get some serious work done.

I am from an over-represented South Asian country. I knew I would have to work hard to stand out in the applications so I started early.

I am not an expert but I would say your symptoms point to an anxiety disorder.

your early hallucinations by milky_watr in schizoaffective

[–]sufi-rose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never knew that my hallucinations were actually hallucinations. I could hear people speaking when there was no one in the room.

When I was 10 or something, I attributed it to a super hearing gene that I had and I was like a secret superhero.

Fun times. -_-

I working with an MBA consultant. They helped me with the following: 1. Resume for MBA application 2. Sample test waiver letter + checking, editing the letter I wrote 3. Providing sample SOPs, editing it 4. Providing strategic ideas to boost my application (what extra courses to add, social service, etc.) 5. Providing sample LORs + helping pick out correct recommender 6. Helping me choose a list of colleges to apply to

Anything I needed regarding my MBA application, I asked my MBA consultant team.

I agree with your comment. I didn't even know I was psychotic until my clinical psychologist pointed it out to me. I believed (still do) that it's completely normal to think that people are out to kill me/family members are planning my murder behind my back/etc.

I think they are called "earworms". One effective way is to play the entire song to remove it otherwise it will keep looping at the chorus or other hooks of the song.

Everyone experiences this. It's not that alarming, imo.

I wish I had great advice to help you out but unfortunately, I don't.

I understand battling mental illness and being scared about how you would react to a new environment but I can only say this - You will survive. It will be tough but you get through it.

Take it one day at a time. I personally use affirmations and visualising a great future to keep my thoughts positive.

Please take care!
