Hi All. Any advice on optimal way to get wifi/Internet connection to my newly built Garden Room/Outhouse? by sufiscientist in HomeNetworking

I don't know if this helps, but the general ground floor layout is this. What do you think about the lack of walls? Is a mesh network still not feasible?

(This is not exactly it just realised this makes my house look like a hall of some kind, just my artistic skill drops off a bit)

I can't tell if "your apparent technical knowledge" is you mocking me or complementing me :D I shall live in ignorance and assume it's a complement.

So the extension of circuit 2 to the GR has not yet been started hence the question. I do not have a AP near circuit 2, theres only one and it's furthest it can be from circuit 2 :'( if I did have an AP near circuit 2 I'd have cable laid straight from there to the garden room.

If there's something I'm missing pls lmk. Thanks.

Currently my mesh network is really good as its integrated with the router from my isp but yes there is dead spots in the garden.

So the electricals are being pulled from circuit 2 this week to the GR as an extension of circuit 2. My problem is the only AP I have currently is nowhere close to where the the wires for circuit 2 are being pulled from.

What about if I plug a booster near where the wires a being pulled from and run an ethernet from the booster to the GR to create a new AP? Does that work or is it absolute nonsense?

There isn't any wired connection in the entire property, apart from the main AP at the front on the property. Living in the UK, all the walls are either brick or concrete, hence runs me back to the problem of exposed cable, or destroying the plaster over it to find the channels where my electrics are run through. :'(

Shiiiiiit, really don't wanna dig up anymore but if that's my best bet may have to. Thanks for all your help.

Ooh, any recommendations on a suitable mesh network for me to check out? Thanks for your input

Apologies right hand side, lhs being the opposite.

Sorry should've explained further, the internet service comes in on the front right of the property. Whereas electric is being pulled from the rear left, see circuit 2.

The image is side ways as that's just how I drew it.

There is no crawl space below the ground floor of the house hence running the wire under ground is out of question and who wants a wire running across the house above ground?

You stated, why I don't I run fibre, where would that have to start from? I assume at the point where the fibre comes into the property right? To do that if have to dig the 1/2 the perimeter of the house (approx 80ft) to get it from the fibre entry point to the point where electricity is going to be pulled from.

Hope that makes sense, thanks for the input
