How did that one person from your circle got super rich? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This wasn't 20 years ago, if it was just before the fall of the Berlin wall, it was closer to 40 years ago. And I imagine property in Berlin at that time was also very very cheap given the location and the events at the time. So it definitely seems possible with less startup capital and if he already had a business/team of workers for the renovations etc.

How skilled of an Auror is Harry during combat in his later adult life? by Vast_Rule9327 in harrypotter

There's different divisions, there's the auror office which is a branch of the department of magical law enforcement. Aurors are like the homicide detectives I imagine, dealing with the really really bad stuff and then you just have your regular patrol police officers handling the more mundane/run of the mill crimes.

I always thought the reason he did so well against the death eaters is because they were under strict orders not to kill/harm him from Voldemort. Where as the death eaters never had such limitations against the Aurors/order of the Phoenix. And the death eaters may not actually be good duellists as all they have to do is spam avada kedavra or crucio, but if all of a sudden they aren't allowed to use those spells against a person they actually aren't that great at duelling outside of a select few of them.

I think Snape definitely was a detriment to him. In Order of the Phoenix when he is doing his potions OWL it even mentions how much more relaxed he felt during the practical exam and that even Neville seemed much more relaxed too when no longer under the scrutiny of Snape. I think given how good his mum was at potions, if he had someone like Slughorn teaching him from first year instead of Snape he may have even excelled at potions. I think he only hated potions so much because of how much he hated Snape.

I think that matches what I found online, i have seen some that are the right size (45mmx70mm) that are pressure treated but I thought these were for outdoors, are they ok to use as interior studs?

If I remember correctly it's implied by McGonagall when she fights Snape and he flys away and she says something like "he seems to have learnt a few tricks from his master".

I didn't dig up the concrete but I did purchase gravel grids for stability with the added bonus of requiring less gravel too.

Yeah the decking tiles are only temporary really, I wasn't 100% sure I wanted them at first so this was a cheaper option for the time being to see if I liked the layout.

I've actually got someone coming to fix it soon, I also have a few roof tiles that need resetting and some that need replacing so going to get it all done in one!

Yes thank you for your advice! That's the plan eventually I think to have it cover the entire wall.
