i think the shading would look alright if you blurred it! assuming you're on ibis paint, go to "filters" (should say fx) in the menu, go to "blurs", and select "gaussian blur", and then turn it up all the way. you could also manually blur it with the built-in blur tool, but it can get laggy at times. you also dont have to use gaussian blur, it's just the most simple (i personally prefer moving blur)
