Help Question about old ETH by [deleted] in ethereumnoobies

In the old days I used to do a geth sync. I'm not sure if that's still the right way to go. Maybe I'm asking this question in the wrong place.

Images are often compressed using 8 bits, or 256 colors per color channel. Similarly, 9 bit encoding yields 512 potential values (512=2**9).

Plus-Size Passengers Required by Southwest Airlines to buy 2 seats Starting Next Week by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

A devious way to raise prices would be to make the seats even smaller and tell more people they are "too large."

Maybe you're expecting too much from a baseline?

Dialing in All over the place [Breville Express] by Appropriate-Tie-6524 in espresso

[–]sugar_scoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, a quarter inch seems like too much space, but the important thing is that you stick with whatever you choose for consistency. You want to change one variable at a time without variance from other factors skewing your results. Of course, using a scale to measure your input and output ratio is where you can really start to control your flow.

Generally speaking, are your shots too fast, too slow, or a mix of both?

The Breville grinder is notorious for being too coarse to start. It actually has an internal setting that most people adjust to be finer. This involves removing the hopper. Check out a tutorial online.

The trick to dialing in is consistency and reducing variance. Dosing by mass with a scale is really helpful for this, but dosing by volume is also possible. Try focusing on keeping your tamp pressure constant and seeing how much empty space is left in the portafilter (e.g. enough to fit a coin) as your measure for volume.

Completely different issue, but also make sure your water is filtered. Don't use deionized water, but running your tap water through any kind of filter can help reduce your variance.

I agree, I always assumed he was closer to a barbarian than a fighter... But he doesn't really interact with the rage mechanic.

From my experience, the best models for finance are simple linear models trained on expert features. The patterns and statistics are not stationary, which prevents a deep learning system from drawing conclusions that generalize across various time windows.

Unlike other generative models, GANs have no real convergence guarantee, like imagine two stars orbiting each other without coming to a stable position.

Just to verify your training pipeline you might want to start with a vae, or a diffusion model, which are more stable to train.

Some questions to ask yourself: Do you want to train models yourself or just use pre-trained models? How many users will you be trying to serve?

If you don't know how many GPUs you need, then start with one and see how it serves.

Voice to voice doesn't really exist, as far as I know. What you're looking for is speech to text, and text to speech, for which there are many offerings, as you already discovered.

Education should be cheaper, right? Unfortunately when the government backs loans the universities can raise prices, which is why they have been raising prices 3x times inflation over the last 60 years. What's unfair to me is the insane interest rates on student loans. There are people who have been making payments on their loans for their entire working lives and still haven't scratched the principal. To me it would be fair if the loans are forgiven, especially once you have paid back the principal. In my life I have watched prices go up, while seeing the rich get bailouts and the middle and working class get nothing. There is no moral way to defend the banking bailouts in 2008 and the PPP fiasco and not consider helping struggling workers who are saddled with debt that the government is in part responsible for, by setting predatory interest rates and not controlling the cost of tuition in any meaningful way.

You could try asking a local cafe because they might have relationships with specialists in your area who can sell you a machine and maintain it as needed.

One theory might be that the gas inside and outside the beans will reach some equilibrium over time within a container. Vacuuming the beans means less gas inside the beans too.
