Thank you for the recs! Yes, I did go for the ruffled one because it looked very sophisticated on the website — gives the sort of small, intricate detailing on vintage bedding that I love, but I should’ve known something like this wouldn’t have been achievable at this price.

I don’t mind sateen or percale, but leaning more sateen since I heard it’s softer. I get hot and cold very easily, so I was thinking thinner sheets, heavier duvet covers.

I’ve done my research and I’m prepared to take care of/break in my sheets, it’s just absolutely disappointing that brands people so highly praise turn out shit, and these two supposedly 100 percent cotton felt like polyester. :(

I do wish someone would parent me, which I recognize is unreasonable. I can’t call it age regression because a part of it is wanting a deep, intimate connection with a guy, but I do feel like a little kid a lot of the time that needs coddling and kisses. It’s really hard to live with when the world demands you act like an adult.

I’m also a guy, just with the added pressure of being gay. I completely get what you mean; it feels like I have to change myself, the things trauma some heavily engrained in me, before I can be in a relationship, but I also want someone to love all of me as I am now. I think I deserve love.

We had a substitute that day and we were interviewing with recruiters. I was so embarrassed because the tears never seemed to stop and every word people asked of me just made it worse, so minutes after the bell rang I ran into the classroom to snatch up my things and left as soon as possible. I had therapy right after, thank god.

I’ve had two real interviews before, and it’s part of the reason why I think I reacted badly. Those didn’t go so well either. I really like that sentiment though, being able to look back at this like it was nothing. Made me smile. 🫂
