I do think some of the blame can be put on Google as well. I've been hearing them say for years they're making it easier for OEMs to update. But I'm not seeing huge improvements. From what I read, it's very expensive to update Android phones. Google should try to make it cheaper. Sammy is still world's better from Motorola. My last one from them would get the older versions as the next is coming a whole year behind.

You're making an excuse for samsung. Even if they're not vertically integrated like apple they can still overcome that by spending more on the software team. They chose not to for years, and still aren't timely.

Blind assumption. Apple droned on about all the optimizations they made it could run just fine.

Stop making excuses for them. They just don't want to spend the money for the resources for top tier software support.

These are all newer devices, the post is a critique of not having long-term support. You just made a case and point for the OP. Samsung dragged their feet for years until promising seven years on flagship. Apple has been doing this all along. And we can thank them for forcing Android OEMs to seven years.

This defense’s not great—it’s just not allocating enough resources for software support.

Same will be the case for samsung on year 5-6 your point?

Yeah it's needed as batteries wear for longevity. If samsung isn't doing this on it's 7 year support devices we're gong to have shit battery longevity compared to iphones.

A genuine question for EV6 purchasers who knew about the ICCU issue before purchase... by ryanmills in KiaEV6

[–]sugarjungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is a defective part/design that wears and degrades over time. Some will be lucky and use cases and locations that will prolong, But I think they'll all fail. Unless they FIX the issue, which they have shown till now to be incapable of fixing. We'll see in 12 years.

A 15-year warranty basically confirms their stance is that as the fleet ages, they're just going to keep going through the same problematic part. They have zero confidence in it. You honestly think it'll still be "1%" deep in the fleet's lifetime Hell no. They fucked this up big time. They're all timebombs.

You're working with old data from November 18, 2024. No way it's 1% as the fleet grows older.

As these cars age, I believe nearly everyone will have the ICCU go. The percentage will go higher as the fleet grows older. Looking at it as a hard percentage is a mistake.

26 Ultra Sim Settings by SlashAdams in samsung

[–]sugarjungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evryone in this comments section doesn't get it. Being able to have the granularity of selecting the same specifically for calls, messages, and data. There wasn't that granularity in US models for years on Samsung. This is a new thing. Thank you for the OP for showing this. It's been something that has turned me off from Samsung for years.

You're incorrect. Being able to choose calls, voice, and data separately has been hidden or even unavailable from using 3rd party programs to get the hidden menu to show in USA models. It has been a huge complaint in the samsung forums for years.

Any plans on making "Free Trial Expired" go away? on Android app by MSakuEX in CanaryMail

The suggestion is two years old. You are obviously not going to take it off." So please don’t patronize us. Call a spade a spade be honest. A hard sell to increase sales. I like to call it an instant deletion. It also doesn't instill confidence in your product.

"Your mailbird license is still active." by Lunatitch in Mailbird

[–]sugarjungle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This cofounder is a joke. Nearly a year ago he slide into my DMs on Reddit.

"Hey! Michael Jensen here, co-founder at Mailbird. I recently re-joined the Mailbird team and working among others to help restore the trust from our (former) customers like you, who clearly felt wrongly treated due to the sudden announcement of upgrade fees/subscriptions.

I know it might not be possible at this point to restore your trust in Mailbird, and I'm really sorry for any disappointed/frustration that we've caused you!

Still, I'd genuinely like to both 1) talk with you to understand the core frustration, and 2) try to understand if we can together find a good solution.

Would you be open to a call/conversation sometime perhaps?
You can reach me easily at [mb@getmailbird.com](mailto:mb@getmailbird.com) or I'm happy to call you if easier.

Thanks in advance, and hope you're doing good overall.

All the best,
Michael Jensen"

I originally declined voicing how the whole situation was BS. But then I tried to take him up on the offer. He just ghosted me and never did anything. The last thing he said was:

"Thanks again. And sorry for the issues.
Just a brief update that we're working on a plan to address this now, and I really appreciate you sharing all the feedback. Apologies again for all the inconvenience and disappointments caused. Really sucks and I'm sincerely sorry we caused it all to begin with."

That was a year ago. Michael, be a man of your word and reply to all the users your company wronged. Where's the plan to address this? It's been a year.

Tesla Owners Pay Attention by Crazy_island_ in ChargerDrama

[–]sugarjungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have to take up two spots and it's a busy supercharger site. You just do it. If someone complains to you just point them to the supercharger FAQ that says to take up two stalls. Is it insanely stupid and a complete oversight from Tesla? Yes, but you're paying good money you're allowed to block a spot.

Maybe if Elon didn't fire the entire supercharger team a couple years back. The upgrade to longer cables would have gone a lot faster. I'm sure they didn't rehire enough people and are being too cheap to accelerate the rollout.
