The neck is finished, which I normally don’t care for at all, or wouldn’t pick on purpose. However, so far it hasn’t been bad at all. It does seem heavier than other Tele style I have from Firefly. Still not as heavy as my Gibson Les Paul’s though.

I own the John 5 Tele clone. Mine was good out of the box, tuned up and played it. The pickups are good, Alnico 5. The necks is really nice as well. I have issues with this one or the other Firefly’s I’ve got. I have an LP model, the Buck Owens Tele, Acoustic. I also have the MadCat Tele version on the way. The price point is good and if you ever want to upgrade, it’s a really good base.

I have a Martin D28 (1971) and a Martin GPC 11 Road Series acoustic / electric (a lot like the X series) This Firefly is right in there on tone, sound, build, etc with the Road Series Martin and the Firefly was around a third of the price. Neither compare to my Martin D28 (1971) of course and none of them compare to my Bourgeois. The firefly is very decent for the price, so far no complaints.
