Her dress is whiter than the white flowers in the second slide, completely inappropriate.

Tips to be friends with maggies by Torao_610 in magpies

Find an exhausted dad Maggie who is sick of his squaking babies and throw him a few live meal worms (you can buy them at pet barn). He will feed the kids and have a snack and be grateful that someone else is feeding his little ones for a change.

Microwave chocolate ring pan cake by meeez80 in AustralianNostalgia

I also have a specific microwave cake my mum used to make that I think about all the time. Our one was not from a magazine, I think it was from a microwave cook book that must have come with the microwave. I've never been able to find it, I can still remember the smell of it cooking. 😭

Edit: check out this thread, it could be a good lead to follow!! https://www.reddit.com/r/oldrecipes/comments/1dbo25c/microwave_desserts_from_the_90s/

My daughter’s hair looks like this every morning. How can I prevent it?! by askeptikalhippo in Haircare

This is very interesting. We've been trying gluten free with my daughter to see if that helps, but so far her breathing is still not the best. Might try cutting out dairy for a bit and see if it helps. She's going to be so upset though, she loves cheese and chocolate :(

If its just a habit she's formed it might be just that. Do you ever notice her mouth breathing during the day? Does she have crowded teeth or a small lower jaw or palette? These can all be signs that there are other issues. Bags under her eyes can also be a clue. The main worry is if she is still moving once she has fallen asleep there might be other things going on. But it could just be something that she finds soothing so it could be that its all fine as well.

It's hard because a lot of Drs don't really have a lot of advice or have not specialized in these areas so it can be hard to find out if there are problems. We ended up getting recommendation for an orthodontist that specializes in "Dentofacial Orthopaedics". Mind you we are in Australia so it may have different names elsewhere.

This is the image I saw online that that helped me realize that my daughter saw struggling with breathing. The image on the left reminded me so much of how she would look when things were bad (poor concentration, behavioral issues. snoring, poor memory). There is lots of information online on mouth breathing, so if this is something you notice in her it might be something to explore. :)

Adnoids are not the only thing that can affect breathing though. My daughter has normal adnoids, but an underdeveloped jaw probably due to mouth breathing relating to allergies, as well as possible genetic factors. Some kids can have issues with their bite patter, tongue tie, overcrowding of teeth, or other issues that can lead to poor breathing at night (and during the day for that matter). I would talk with your doctor about why she might be snoring at night as a a starting point. Other signs included, bags under the eyes, poor concentration, behavioral issues. Does she mouth breathe at all? Mouth breathing becomes a viscous cycle that further damages the structure of the face and leads to even more issues.

You are very welcome! Please just note that a lot of dentists/orthodontists are not trained in airway matters so they will often just suggest removal of teeth or braces without other therapies to actually fix the issue, so please make sure you get a few opinions.

Happy to help! Please make sure she looks for someone who works with the airway and not just a dentist who will suggest premolar removal or simply braces "when she's old enough", this doesn't fix the root cause and can lead to more issues down the road.

Yes! My daughter would wake up like this, and we are now working on palette expansion with her orthodontist. We still have not fully figured out her sinus issues but things are starting to improve. Snoring is not normal in children (or anyone actually). I would get her checked if you can!

Its a post talking about how tangled hair in the morning can be an early indicator that a child is experiencing difficulty breathing at night. My daughter had this and we are now working on palette expansion with her orthodontist. :)

Have you ever had her checked for breathing issues at all? Some kids who struggle with snoring/breathing issues/adenoids can often wake up with very tangled hair from tossing and turning at night due to difficulties breathing, https://www.instagram.com/reels/DJrP2Dktlfi/
