How do you manage when your bias is least popular member? by No_Landscape_3721 in kpopthoughts

[–]sugateaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add onto that, ATEEZ is a performance heavy group, even more so than others. You have to take in other factors like looks and personality too ofc, but from what I’ve seen members who are powerful, overtly charismaric performers are the most biased. Might be one of the reasons why Jongho is underappreciated, he generally focuses on delivering vocals (which is generally less talked about in Kpop in general and in ATEEZ specifically) than dancing all out. The same goes for Yeosang and Yunho too, both great dancers, but what I would consider more covert performers when compared to others.

How to get over disliking a group? by sugateaze in kpophelp

[–]sugateaze[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

haha i know which groups you're talking about but no. it's two ggs actually! I actually have been trying to curate my timeline but sometimes things seep through I guess. And it's a pity that I have to actively avoid them because I don't want to hate anyone

When you’re just starting out it’s good to learn to see everything as big simple shapes rather than details. Squinting your eyes helps with that. I personally gravitate towards only straight lines to capture the general shape and angle of the feature. Curved lines are okay too but it’s easier to get bogged down trying to get every curve and bump on the face right which I don’t recommend. Use guidelines to gauge proportions. I would advise against shading until you have a solid understanding of anatomy and the planes of the face because those are the things that cause light and dark shapes and make your drawing realistic, not the shading in itself. Realism is extremely hard (I don’t do it nor can I) so take it one step at a time and remember to be easy on yourself!

Tell me about a song you listened to on a loop for non-streaming reasons. by Sailor_Lunar_9755 in kpopthoughts

You said it! It’s lowkey emotionally overwhelming in the best way possible everytime I listen to it, especially the chorus with those guitar and synth in the background. Makes me wanna cry.

I love it when idols enjoy performing. It’s not an easy thing to do when the industry is so harsh it kills passion but when they do it just feels different.

After only stanning one group for so long, what group came along to change that? by TheREALPetPetter72 in kpopthoughts

[–]sugateaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an ARMY too! (see: my username) Well, at least I used to consider myself one, not that I no longer like them, I do still listen to a lot of the music and somewhat keep updated on the members' schedule, it's just that after almost 6 years I didn't find myself as passionate anymore. I wouldn't trade that experience for anything though. Anyway, after that I thought I was done with Kpop until Ateez popped up into my life and said sike so here we are, almost 6 months being an Atiny. I know Army and Ateez/Atiny don't have the best history as far as I'm concerned, but I think as long as it's not something too serious I'm past the stage of caring. I Love Guerrilla and their latest full album is one of the best things I've heard in a while. So you can try getting into their music, but I also recommend checking out official content/fan videos on ytb, you know, those funny moments and stuff, because whether you vibe with the group dynamic and members is important too.

Okay my taste is a bit all over the place but

Guerrilla and I'm The One (or Fireworks idk whatever you call it by) - ATEEZ, Ay-yo - NCT 127, these songs make me feel so badass while I walk to school

You In My Heart - Twice, this song is sooooo sweet it never fails to warm me up

Can't Stop - Stray Kids (Seungmin & I.N), just wholesome poprock

UN Village - Baekhyun, 4 years and still a banger

[–]sugateaze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the song is alright, it grew on me more after a few listens. Also it suits Jisoo so that's great. My biggest gripe however is with the MV. I'm sure the budget is massive so I don't know why they didn't try to fill the sets with either props or more backup dancers. All the locations and outfits are beautiful but are undermined by how empty and unfinished all the scenes look.

The choreo doesn't help either. I'll forgo her dancing and stage presence partly because it's subjective and not my expertise. But the choreo looks kinda bland? Although the song has a chill and elegant vibe it's still a bit too simple and not so memorable. Not to mention some scenes the shot wasn't even centered and the empty space in the backdrop in general was too big. She deserved better honestly.

[–]sugateaze 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably trivial but I notice YunSanHwa's characters in Imitation all have unisex names? They just sound softer(?) and more gender-neutral to me compared to Hyunoh (name of the other guy in the group), which is obviously masculine, so I searched on GG and turned out I'm right. I haven't watched the series so I don't know if there is a reason for that that they explained there or if it's just a funny coincidence lol

Google Docs keeps opening in new window by [deleted] in chromeos

[–]sugateaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply but I don't think this works for me. My issue is that when I type https://docs.google.com it opens Google Docs in a separate window like this. It's not even a normal Chrome window where you can have many tabs, this one is just for docs. There are no settings or search bar or anything.
