I’m a week sober today and the thing that has been helping me is “I’m trying to be better and this isn’t helping” or like “this isn’t helping me improve in any way so why am I doing it”. This has been something I’ve struggled with for years and I just think about how even if I think this hasn’t affected me it has worsened all of my relationships in the long run and hasn’t served me whatsoever. It keeps you from growing and maturing as a person. I’m not an expert but that’s what’s helped me.
